If you are looking for a new place to visit for Texas family weekend road trip or summer vacation, then pack your bags, get in the car, and drive 50 miles south of Houston to the Brazosport area!
This post was part of a sponsored project in conjunction with members of the Texas Travel Industry Association to feature their members. The opinions reflected are honest and based upon the individual blogger experience.
Have Fun in the Sun at the Beach
If your kids like to build sand castles, then they will love Surfside Beach. Parents will love that the beach is free for pedestrians. If you want to drive on the beach, you will need to buy an annual pass for $12.
Check out Brazosport Area Wildlife
If your kids are bird enthusiasts, they will enjoy San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge and Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge. Your kids can integrate their science classes by identifying ducks, pelicans, egrets, and other birds.
Go Fishing (or Go See Fish)
From Surfside Beach to the Intercoastal Canal, there are many places to fish in Brazosport. If fishing doesn’t work for your family, then you can learn about fish at Sea Center Texas. Admission is free.
Check out the Museums
If you want to go indoors after visiting Surfside Beach, going fishing, or visiting a wildlife refuge, check out the Center for the Arts and Sciences. The center includes the Art League, Center Stages, and Museum of Natural Science. Admission for the museum and art exhibits is free.
We hope you can see that there are many fun things for families to do in the Brazosport area. If you’re planning a Texas family weekend road trip to Houston or the Gulf Coast, you should definitely consider the Brazosport area.
