Texas is a vast resource of family fun just waiting to be explored. From east to west and everywhere in-between are hidden parks, watering holes, hiking trails and tiny museums that don’t always show up in the tourist guides. Our Texas Treasures series is dedicated to those hidden spots where a local would take you.
Just north of Austin in Round Rock, a very special park is tucked away. Built with all ages and all abilities in mind, the Play for All Park lives up to its name. From wheelchair accessible swings to zip lines with bucket seats and buckles, this park truly embraces the needs of all in a very special way.
Rolling Through Round Rock
Entering the park is a mini driver’s dream. Two-way bike traffic roams the streets of this pint-sized city complete with car wash, fire department, an HEB and even a hospital.

This kid-sized town is just the beginning, however. Move further out into the park and you will find an oasis for all cut into the hill.
Play for all means fun for all
A sensory-driven playground on a wheel-friendly, cushioned turf…
While there are plenty of traditional swings, this was a favorite. This swing is strong and large enough for many styles of wheelchairs with easy access.
And who says pirates can roll away rather than sail?
This Texas gem demonstrates that a park that makes itself accessible to all can truly be fun for all. The central message of this very special park … “Friendship is Magic”
If you are in the Austin metropolitan area, head north to the Park for All. It truly is a Texas Treasure.
