Where everything slows down this side of Fort Worth.
There’s a reason people slip away to the countryside, even for a short escape. Out there, the world slows down, time stretches, and you’re reminded of how it feels to really catch your breath. Well, that’s what you’ll find in this small town of a population of only 2,590, just 30 minutes north of downtown Fort Worth. Discover fun things to do in Boyd, TX, for an afternoon or longer.
In Boyd, you can enjoy a morning or afternoon of picking strawberries at a local farm (when in season), then hop over to TJ Winery to sip your favorite glass of Texas wine, the only winery in town. And maybe stay longer for lunch, and perhaps book a spa treatment. If you like racing cars, catch a drag race at the local race track, if you’re up to it. That’s a full day right there!

TF Vineyard & Winery
162 PR 4689, Boyd
Enjoy a glass or a bottle of wine at TF Vineyard & Winery, a small winery off the beaten path down a rock road in Boyd. Choose to sit indoors or on the cozy outdoor patio overlooking the vineyard, and hit up the fire pits when the weather turns cold. They offer sweet and dry Texas wines, slushes, swirls, and charcuterie boards, pizzas, and other foods. We enjoyed a wine tasting of their dry reds, and I think I found another favorite – Red Zinfandel. It was surprisingly very good!
Winery hours are Thursday 3-7, Friday 1-7, and Sunday 12-6.
