It’s Schlitterbahn’s 40th anniversary! In celebration, my family is making it a Schlitterbahn summer and have already created so many wonderful family memories at the waterparks. We kicked off our summer with a trip to Schlitterbahn New Braunfels and later took a girls trip to Waves Resort Corpus Christi featuring Schlitterbahn Waterpark.
My family and I were invited to Waves Resort Corpus Christi featuring Schlitterbahn Waterpark as part of a partnership with Schlitterbahn and Texas Travel Talk. The partnership included lodging, Schlitterbahn Waterpark tickets, and compensation for the trip. The opinions reflected are honest and based upon my own experience.
Take a surf lesson!
I was invited to Schlitterbahn to experience their National Women in Surf Day, and I had the incredible opportunity to take my first surf lesson. Y’all, it was exhilarating and the most fun I’ve had in a long time. I NEVER thought surfing was something I could do, but with a short lesson and some guidance…I was doing it!! See my full experience over at Laugh With Us Blog>>> Schlitterbahn Women in Surf. Make sure to try the Boogie Bahn on your next visit to Schlitterbahn!
Float in the rivers!
We spent most of our time at Schlitterbahn Corpus Christi on their river system. It’s not just a lazy river! There are four distinct flavors of river including: lazy, rapid, wavy, and wild. Whether we wanted to relax in the water and gently float while we talked and laughed or were in the mood to hang onto our floats for a wild and crazy ride, we lived it up all day long.
The river stretches across over two miles of the Corpus property and can be accessed by 16 beaches that are all interconnected with each other.
Ride some water slides!
Do you have some high thrill seekers in your family? I sure do! Bring it on.
There are also water slides to enjoy and get your thrills. My kids’ favorite was the Sky Blaster, an uphill water coaster. It reaches 46 feet high and is 385 feet long. Get ready for a wild ride!
Stay on property!
Schlitternbahn Corpus Christi is located inside Waves Resort. For the best experience at the park, stay on property! Do you have a large family or group you’re traveling with? No problem! As a family of seven I always appreciate finding accommodations where we can all stay together.
This expansive queen suite, for up to seven, features two queen beds and two pull out sofas! Do you have a large party, but want a place you can all hang out? Multiple rooms can be added that open up into the queen suite. I absolutely love that. It is a great place for an extended family gathering! Enjoy the park by day and hang out and play games all evening.
If you’d rather spend your time outside, relax under the stars, and enjoy a family-friendly movie on the towering 42-foot outdoor screen! You can also get a spa treatment, practice at the driving range, or grab a bite at Epicurea Restaurant.
The girls and I and a wonderful time in the water and sun over two days of fun. We’ve all agreed we want to go back. We loved learning to surf and just spending time together with no worries. One thing is for sure, you’re in for an amazing time at Waves Resort Corpus Christi!
