Gaylord Texan Resort Family Review

A Gaylord Texan Resort Family Review

Gaylord Texan Resort Family Review— Grapevine, TX

On the outside, the resort is surrounded by acres of live greenery, seasonal blooms of many colors, trails, and parts of Lake Grapevine peeking out. The inside is just as surreal. The atrium blows my mind every time I see it. Lots of live greenery and flowers fill the atrium, and it’s just magical. This Gaylord Texan Resort family review is by Kim, owner of Texas Travel Talk.

I have been to the Gaylord Texan so many times I’ve lost count. I’ve taken all my grandchildren, friends, mom, many family members, and son, Brody, and it never gets old or dull. I like how the decor changes from year to year. And, if you’re wondering if you can visit Gaylord Texan without staying there. The answer is yes, of course. You can enjoy the atrium, dine in the restaurants, and marvel over all the decorations (especially during the holidays). Everyone is welcome.

Full Disclosure: I have partnered with Gaylord Texan for at least the last thirteen years. But I remember we took our granddaughter when she was three, either at the first ICE show or the second one, and I had no idea I’d be working with them as an influencer.

Gaylord Texan Resort Family Review

For some, visiting Gaylord Texan is a once-in-a-lifetime visit, especially during the holidays. But for others, it’s an every-year occurrence. Grandparents love to spoil their grandkids here. But, whatever it is to you, live it up, spoil your family, and have a great time. There is so much to do when a particular event is happening. Otherwise, visiting the pools and Paradise Springs in summer is all the craze. Just ask your kids!

Hotel rooms surround the giant beautiful atrium with live greenery, a pond with big fish, a train going around its tracks, and many picture-worthy places to take those family photos. Ask for an atrium view room if possible – you’ll love it. You may get turned around because it’s so big, but signs everywhere show where things are. Book early if you are going for a special event like ICE!

Check-in is 4 p.m.; check-out is 11 am.

And, by the way, Gaylord Texan is in the Marriott family, so use your points wisely!

Is there a Resort Fee at Gaylord Texan?
Yes, a $26 resort fee per night includes pool and fitness center access.

Activities

You and the whole family can do many things, but may I suggest taking time for yourself and booking a spa appointment?

Relâche Spa

Take a break and unwind at The Relâche Spa with treatment rooms, a coed relaxation area with drinks and snacks, lockers, a steam room, and a sauna. The spa offers body treatments, massages, facials, and more.

Walk, Run, or Jog

Take some time to enjoy the outdoors on the concrete Gaylord Texan Trail with woodland views and sightings of Grapevine Lake.

Indoor 20-meter Lap Pool

A heated pool that is always open. The pool and fitness center are at the end of the Riverwalk atrium.

Fitness Center

Outdoor Pool with Waterfall

It’s a nice pool with shade and no shade. The waterfall is nice (my son’s favorite). There is a bar there, too, that serves drinks and bar food. But it doesn’t stay open as long as the pool does.

Paradise Springs Water Park

Four Paradise Springs tickets come with each room rental and six with a suite. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes and takes you there and back. You’ll find me at the lazy river! Gaylord Texan water park day pass is only for guests of the hotel.

Gaylord Texan Water Park hours: Mondays – Thursdays: 9 am – 7 pm
Fridays – Saturdays: 9 am – 8 pm
