Unless you live there, you’ll need a place to stay in the Texas Hill Country. My friend and I spent six nights in the Hill Country while touring the Texas Wine Trail. We tasted some pretty good wine and spent our nights at these quaint Texas Hill Country stays throughout our visit.

Yes, there are many places to stay in the Texas Hill Country – so many I’ve lost count. But wouldn’t you rather stay somewhere that someone you know has already stayed? Word of mouth is the best advertisement around! That’s what I’m for – I’ll tell you the end and out of the places we stayed this past year.
The Bevy DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Boerne, TX

OMG – I long for those warm, delicious chocolate chip cookies upon check-in! Yep, you’ll get one when you arrive for your stay. Staying at The Bevy, you’re five minutes (if that) from downtown Boerne and the Hill Country Mile.
The rooms are decorated with Texas memorabilia and have walk-in showers. There are many choices of rooms available. My hotel room had a comfortable king bed, couch, coffee nook, and plenty of room for all my stuff! But I miss being unable to watch my new favorite episode on Netflix.
My favorite part of the hotel is the lobby. It’s all cozy with a fireplace, large bar area, espresso and bakery bar, and Texas decor. It shows off its warm welcome the second those front doors slide open!
Because of the winter storm, we didn’t attempt to venture out to the pool area, but when you do, please enjoy the outdoor fireplace for us!

Those fries that came with my hamburger are worth a second visit. A serious side for lunch – crispy, seasoned, plentiful fries. And that hamburger was pretty good, too.
Friday Night Country Singer at The Bevy

I never got his name, but he was rockin’ country music on Friday night. And, when we returned Saturday night from having dinner at the Blacksmith Grill (below), the parking lot was packed – so packed we almost didn’t find a place to park. Later that night, Adeina looked out her hotel room window and saw all the cars were gone. We now know they all were there to listen to this country singer sing! Check it out!

We had a wonderful lunch earlier that day but wanted something light to eat. So, we opted for two appetizers and the best vanilla bean shake on the planet. Not lite, as you can probably guess, but it satisfied us. Other shakes on the menu are peanut butter, strawberry, and a few more.
It is worth a trip just for their homemade shakes! Blacksmith Grill is on Main Street – you can’t miss it.
The Front Porch Inn – Comfort, Texas
Updated March 2023: The website link is not working, but I wanted to keep this information on the site in case it works again. It’s too darling of a place to close!
A very charming bed and breakfast Adeina found for us. We got the suite, which included a king bed, two twin beds, a couch, a TV, a microwave, and a bathroom in an adjacent room. We were very cozy and almost too warm, but we made it work.
I hope you don’t mind cats because two live outside, and they will greet you as you come up the front porch stairs.
I didn’t see wheelchair access to the front porch, but a few rooms in the back do not require going upstairs.

The front porch is a nice touch for sitting outside to enjoy the camaraderie with other guests or your family sipping your favorite beverage. This adorable BnB is located on the corner of two streets. I can’t say either was busy with passersby while we were there, but we did hear a few fast cars in the middle of the night.
Raspberry Cheese Cake at Lani’s Coffee House in Comfort, TX
When in Comfort, pop in at Lani’s Coffee Shop in town for fresh coffee and cheesecake. We shared this amazing raspberry cheesecake and enjoyed freshly brewed coffee made for us! The inside decor is adorable; I wondered if it was all for sale as I didn’t see any price tags. Adeina said, “Everything is for sale.”

Farmhouse Vineyards Vagabond – Johnson City
Because of the winter storm in Texas, we had to cozy up in this farmhouse ranch for two days. And, let me tell you, it wasn’t a bad thing. Not only were we comfy, warm, and secure, we binge-watched two seasons of Emily In Paris — now we’re hooked. I’ll forever remember the Farmhouse Vagabonds as our place for a girl’s time watching a girl’s TV flick.

The Farmhouse Vagabond rental has a dark essence with modern and elegant furnishings. It was so perfectly styled I wondered if an interior designer helped with it, but Ms. Katy Jane did it all herself. (yes, I asked)
She and her business partner own Farmhouse Vineyard Marketplace & Tipsy Trailer, within walking distance from the Vagabond. Next time you want to partake in the wineries in the hill country, check out Johnson City, where plenty of wineries are just in this area.
