Who’s ready for a fun girls’ trip in Texas?
Texas has some fantastic spots for a girls’ trip, whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure, or a mix of both. Here is our take on some top girls’ trip destinations in Texas. But we love small towns, so all of these are that! What kind of vibe are you looking for—relaxing, adventurous, or something in between?
Small Town Girls Trip Destinations in Texas
Texas has a slew of places to fancy yourself with the girls. The following ideas are well thought out because the owner of Texas Travel Talk has been to all of them – that’s me. And when I visit more areas, I’ll be sure to add them to this article. I plan to go to Wimberley next week and Bandera the following month, so be sure to bookmark this page for more girlfriend fun!
Since small towns in Texas are our specialty, all these places in Texas are small to even smaller cities. Why? Because there is so much quaintness, nature, and splendor in the towns that are wrapped around the big cities of Texas.
Round Top, Texas (Central Texas)
OMG, I just got back from here. I went right after the big April antique show, and everything was still open. Although I didn’t see many sales going on, don’t go thinking that all the merchandise that didn’t sell during the show is on sale, because it isn’t. Go knowing there will be fewer crowds.
Here is a must-read about my fresh new article on my time in Round Top.
Grapevine, Texas
Visiting Grapevine as a girls’ trip is always a great idea, no matter the season. Main Street is busting at the seams with things to do. There are about 10 or so wine bars on the street, several dining options, and shopping is plentiful. Go when the farmers’ market is open for a more robust time. Handmade and homemade items are the best, and supporting local businesses is so worth it.
The holidays are the best on Main Street in Grapevine. Many stores are decked out with red and green ribbons and bows, and there’s always something going on during the holidays. It usually starts right around Thanksgiving and ends right after the New Year. If you visit during this time, don’t miss the chance to ice skate outdoors at Peace Plaza, located outside Hall’s Food Court.
Mineral Wells, Texas
Go crazy in Mineral Wells at The Crazy Water Hotel. My friend and I had the pleasure of staying there not too long ago and had a marvelous time. You really wouldn’t even need to leave. The hotel is equipped with boutique shops, a coffee bar, a restaurant, and even a beer bar. See, everything you need is right there.
However, we do suggest getting out and about to see the other adorable shops and places in town. Everything is within walking distance.
Be sure to guess the secret code to the newly opened speakeasy in town and find yourself having the time of your life with all genres of music and the best drinks in town. We did! We also love Coffee & Cocktails and the wine bar across the street – all in downtown.
Lindale, Texas (East Texas)
Suppose you love country music. You and your girlfriends will love spending time in this small East Texas town – the hometown of the superstar, Miranda Lambert. You can shop at her boutique – the Pink Pistol, have wine at her wine bar, and for a more upscale time, stay the night in the two-bedroom, one and only Miranda Lambert Suite at Marriott, within walking distance to town, and all the fun.
Lindale is nestled in the Piney Woods of East Texas, and that’s beautiful in itself. It’s not too late to check out the Piney Woods Wine Trail Festival happening May 9-10, 2025, at Pickers Pavilion. I’ll be there with my boots on!
Boerne, Texas (Texas Hill Country)
A classic girls’ trip destination with boutique shopping, dining, breweries, wineries, and the Cibolo Creek all on Main Street. Stay at The Kendall Hill Country Inn and eat at Peggy’s on the Green (onsite restaurant), then take a walk around the creek. That would make your trip so memorable. It’s all right there, too.
Georgetown, Texas (Central Texas)
A charming town with cute boutiques, farm-to-table restaurants, wineries on the square, and outdoor activities like hiking and biking in parks. Your girlfriends will love shopping and dining on the Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas.
Waco, Texas (Central Texas)
If you’re a fan of Chip and Joanna Gaines, Magnolia Market is a must-visit! Plus, there’s an adorable Airbnb that’s perfect for both girls, young and old. It’s the Ice Cream Dream at Casa Kumwesu on Airbnb.
Tooling around Waco at the Magnolia Market is only part of the fun. Be sure to head downtown Waco for more shopping and antique finds.
Granbury, Texas (North Texas)
This is one small town girls’ trip destination in Texas worth taking. Granbury was once again voted Best Historical Small Town by USA Today Readers’ Choice 2025. Take your swimsuits for fun on Lake Granbury and at the city beach – it’s all connected.
Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs (TX Hill Country)
Visiting Dripping Springs with your girlfriends is one thing (and a good one), but staying at Camp Lucy while you’re there is a whole lot of another thing. There is so much to do there, you’ll never need to leave, unless you’re searching for a winery. And with the new spa finishing up at the end of the summer of 2025, that’s another reason to book your stay with them.
Also, if you’re unaware, Dripping Springs is the Wedding Capital of Texas, and Camp Lucy is a significant part of that. Their grounds are beautiful for weddings, and a bridal suite is available for use.
I’ve had the pleasure of visiting once alone and another time with girlfriends. Both times were spectacular, but having female companions along makes it all the better, of course. We had a blast doing outdoor activities there, and also enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Tilly’s, Camp Lucy’s onsite restaurant. Check it out!!
Johnson City (Texas Hill Country)
Who wouldn’t love stomping grapes? We had a special session with the grapes, so I’m not sure if it’s open to the public at Westcave Cellars in Johnson City. But do ask during grape stomping season in the Hill Country.
There are plenty of places to stay. We’ve stayed at Farmhouse Vagabond and its other Airbnb, but do a search, because many new places have opened out that way.
Well, there you have it, small town girls’ trip destinations in Texas. Which will you choose? Let us know.
