But if you’re only going for the treehouse experience and don’t plan to go outside, then it doesn’t matter when you go because most glamping sites come equipped with A/C and heat.
The Lone Star State can sometimes be quite stingy regarding cool weather. However, who needs cool weather or warm weather when glamping in treehouses that offer air conditioning and heat? A romantic treehouse getaway for you and the one you love is located about an hour’s drive east of Dallas. Staying at Savannah’s Meadow will make you want to propose to your partner, or you’ll want to say your vows all over again—it’s the perfect romantic getaway for all things loving.
While strolling outdoors on foot, you may want to grab an available bike on the property and go for a long ride on the trails. You can also jump in a canoe and take off to explore the area on the water.

I don’t know much about these Guadalupe River cabins, but I do know New Braunfels like the back of my hand and always love visiting there, especially the small town of Gruene, but more so the river. My family will never tire of going to the Guadalupe.

You’ll find 50 acres of native live oaks, cedars, a creek that feeds into the Paluxy River (hope for rain), and plenty of animals roaming the land. Skybox Cabins seems to be a delightful place to stay with family. Several places to rent here are like a dream come true for many. I want to experience it. Skybox Cabins were featured in Texas Living Magazine and Southern Living – so you know they are nice!
When in Glen Rose, go to the Dinosaur Valley State Park, less than a mile away, and there is so much to do there. Kids love it here, especially if the dinosaur tracks are visible (hope for no rain).

5. Frio River Treetop
Leaky, Texas
The Frio River has never looked so good from below in this treetop glamping site. I remember floating the Frio with my extended family a few years ago. It was quite a fun trip, but I remembered there was no cell service, and I had to call for help to find the cabin. I also remember the water being low; instead of floating on the tube, we sometimes had to walk the tube! But still, it was fun on the river.
Frio Treetop is meant for a large gathering – like 20 people! It’s three treehouses, and they all rent to the same group. WOW!! A Treetop Deck is perched in a giant cypress tree overlooking the Frio River, with several patios and decks for entertaining. Sauna and hot tub, too. It’s an excellent place for one big celebration. No pets here.
6. Cypress Valley
Spicewood – Texas Hill Country
Cypress Valley is a magical place, as it says on the website. It is also a wedding and event area. I’d seek this one out for a romantic time in the woods.
These treehouse rentals have been in the news several times. Oh, which one will you choose – the one with many spiral staircases, Juniper that you have to walk a platform to get to, or the Yoki Treehouse that’s $625 a night? Any of these is a unique experience you must try if spending nights in the sky is your thing.
7. Treehouse Utopia
Utopia, Texas
Utopia is located in South Texas near Bandera and about a 1.5-hour drive from downtown San Antonio. Treehouse Utopia has four treehouse rentals, all high up in the trees, with many stairs to climb and fairy lights to adore. Treehouses have a bedroom, sitting room, full bathroom with a clawfoot tub, and a private deck for relaxation. Glamping treehouse rentals start at $475/night.

- Lost Maples State Natural Area is known for its spectacular show of Fall colors and is a year-round attraction for hiking, birding, and fishing.
- Lost Maples Winery – Enjoy wine tasting and live music 15 minutes north of Utopia.

There is a king-size bed for the parents, a community playground underneath the treehouse for the kids, and a pool for all. There is also a spiral staircase and many more amazing amenities.

9. The Silver Spur Resort
Canton, TX (East Texas)
It’s just as fun underneath as on top! Silver Spur Resort’s newest addition is a glamping treehouse with an ideal spot outside for picnics and family games. It has a queen-size bed, bunk beds, a bathroom, a small kitchenette, and a kitchen table. Silver Spur also offers cabins and the coolest Constego Wagons for rent if you have a large group or if you want to experience sleeping in a wagon like the pioneers once did. Picnic tables, a swing, and a vast area to play are also available when renting the treehouse.
I’ve stayed in one of their wagons and this treehouse; both are an experience. My grandson enjoyed his time at both, especially fishing in the pond and running around the entire place without me watching over him. I felt very secure here.
You’re lucky if you choose to stay here because their restaurant, Q & Brew Barbecue, is just a short walk from the treehouse. It’s great when you don’t want to cook outdoors on the provided charcoal BBQ grill.
There is a lovely swimming pool, and other outdoor games are available for guests who stay here. There are also plenty of spaces for RVers to park their RVs and stay as long as they like.

10. Best Day Ever Ranch
Whitewright, TX (North of Dallas)
Though we did not stay in the treehouse when we were there back in 2016, we did enjoy the ranch for two full days in a cabin with amenities and an outdoor shower. Best Day Ever Ranch is ideal for a romantic getaway because you’re all alone and secluded from the rest of the cabins. If ever you want to marry, check out this place for your wedding ceremony – it’s a fantastic place to say your vows in their upscale event center.
Since we’ve been, they have added a beautiful swimming pool, more cabins, and amenities. Paul, the owner, has done a grand job building his ranch – his long-time childhood dream. They may have other glamping treehouse rentals that I’m not aware of.
11. Geronimo Creek Retreat
Seguin (30 mins east of San Antonio)
Geronimo Creek Retreat, a unique creekside resort in Seguin, TX, features treehouses surrounding a spring-fed pond, teepees, and glamping cabins. You can feel as if you’re fully submerged in nature but with the comforts of modern amenities such as air conditioning, bathrooms, and WiFi in the treehouses.

HoneyTree Farm has five treehouse options on 10 acres overlooking Palo Alto Creek. Oh, which one will you choose? Each one is totally different from the next one. It looks like a special place for romance to me. The Leaf Treehouse would be my option just because I could sit by the unique round window to read a magazine or ponder my plans as I gaze out the window.

Not too far from Downtown Fort Worth, only 12 or so minutes from the Cleburne State Park, you’ll be in a quiet place surrounded by nature. You’ll enjoy a comfy bed, a luxurious bathroom, large windows, and a private deck – all this in nature …and it’s in a treehouse! This is my kind of place! Find Grandview Treetops on Airbnb starting at $207/night. Wheelchair accessible. Almost a perfect 5-point star rating.
