Glamping Treehouse Rentals In Texas
Treehouse at Best Day Ever Ranch

Book a unique experience at one of these glamping treehouse rentals in Texas.

Fall camping is upon us, and what better way to enjoy the great outdoors than in a treehouse cabin in the sky! A glamping tree house is a cabin built in a tree – not all are in trees on this list – some are on stilts, but they are high above the ground, and you must climb stairs to get inside. For unique glamping experiences, book one of these Texas treehouse rentals in Texas. It’s more of an experience than anything else.

Sometimes it’s just as fun underneath a treehouse than inside. You can have a party at Silver Spur, play games, and listen to the water foundation (Canton, TX).

Unique Treehouse Rentals In Texas – Best Time To Go

The best time to go glamping is during cooler weather, when you can enjoy the outdoors and all the surroundings. I hike and wander around the property when I go camping or glamping. However, if you’re only seeking the treehouse experience and don’t plan to venture outside, it doesn’t matter when you visit, as most glamping sites are equipped with air conditioning and heating.

The Lone Star State can sometimes be quite stingy regarding cool weather. However, when glamping in treehouses that offer air conditioning and heat, who needs cool or warm weather? Bring a book and relax. Some of these treehouses have more amenities than most people have in their homes. That might be a stretch, but glamping in a treehouse is a step above camping in a cabin.

I sometimes enjoy camping in plain old cabins, especially when my grandson comes along—he loves it! But this article is about turning your cabin experiences into unique glamping experiences. Explore these treehouses in Texas and select the one that resonates with you and your family.

Secluded Getaways in Texas for Couples

Glamping Treehouse Rentals In Texas

Escape the city life to one of these unique stays in Texas on this list. You’ll find some of the best treehouse rentals in Texas right here. Let’s go!

1. Savannah’s Meadow Treehouses

Farmersville (East Texas)

A romantic treehouse getaway for you and the one you love is about an hour’s drive east of Dallas. Staying at Savannah’s Meadow will make you want to propose to your partner, or you’ll want to say your vows all over again—it’s the perfect romantic getaway for all things loving.

While strolling outdoors on foot, you may want to grab a bike on the property and go for a long ride on the trails. You can also jump in a canoe and explore the area on the water.

This bedroom photo belongs to the Majestic Oak Treehouse. This treehouse sits 25 feet in the air, is built within a tree over 200 years old, and features three distinct areas: the main room (with a Crows Nest), a main bedroom, and a bathroom complete with a glass shower.

Pro Tip: Plan to book your stay for a romantic weekend well in advance – their calendar can get packed.

2. The Alexander At Creek Road

A Dripping Springs Treehouse Rental

The gateway to the Texas Hill Country (via Austin) awaits you at one of  The Alexander at Creek Road Treehouse rentals. Four private treehouse suites accommodate 2-4 people, offering fantastic views of the hill country. They are all nestled together and would be an excellent option for a large group.

Gather on the standard upper deck or enjoy a fire pit below for your get-together. Besides the big windows and scenic views, these treehouses have premium beds, mini-fridges, TVs, a coffee bar, and lovely bathrooms with showers. I don’t think you’ll go without at this place.

If this one doesn’t suit your fancy, Central Texas has plenty of treehouse getaways throughout the hill country. There are more options below.

3. River Road Treehouses – Lovely Tree Houses on the Guadalupe River

Treehouse Camping In New Braunfels

I don’t know much about these Guadalupe River cabins, but I do know New Braunfels like the back of my hand and always love visiting there, especially the small town of Gruene, but more so the river. My family will never tire of going to the Guadalupe.

Check out River Road Treehouses for treehouse rentals and cabin rentals by the river. These treehouses feature a full kitchen, bathroom, king-size and queen-size beds, a private porch, and a shared BBQ area. Be sure to check the minimum night requirements before you book your rental.

4. Skybox Cabins

Glen Rose, Texas

You’ll find 50 acres of native live oaks, cedars, a creek that feeds into the Paluxy River (hope for rain), and plenty of animals roaming the land. Skybox Cabins seems to be a delightful place to stay with family. Several places to rent here are like a dream come true for many. I want to experience it. Skybox Cabins were featured in Texas Living Magazine and Southern Living – so you know they are lovely!

When in Glen Rose, visit Dinosaur Valley State Park, located just under a mile away, or stroll downtown Glen Rose, where you’ll find all the shops and restaurants. There is so much to do there. Kids love it here, especially when the dinosaur tracks are visible (and we hope for no rain).

Places to eat in Glen Rose:

  • Big Cup Eatery
  • Blackies Bait Shop
  • Blackies On The Square
  • Grounded Coffee Shop

5. Frio River Treetop

Leaky, Texas

The Frio River has never looked so good from below in this treetop glamping site. I remember floating the Frio with my extended family a few years ago. It was quite a fun trip, but I remembered there was no cell service, and I had to call for help to find the cabin. I also remember the water being low; instead of floating on the tube, we sometimes had to walk the tube! But still, it was fun on the river.

Frio Treetop is ideal for large gatherings, accommodating up to 20 people. It’s three treehouses, and they all rent to the same group. WOW!! A Treetop Deck is perched in a giant cypress tree overlooking the Frio River, with several patios and decks for entertaining. There is also a sauna and a hot tub. It’s an excellent place for one big celebration. There are no pets allowed here.

6. Cypress Valley

Spicewood – Texas Hill Country

Cypress Valley is a magical place, as the website says. It is also a venue for weddings and events. I’d seek this one out for a romantic walk in the woods.

These treehouse rentals have been in the news several times. Oh, which one will you choose – the one with many spiral staircases, Juniper that you have to walk a platform to get to, or the Yoki Treehouse that’s $625 a night? Any of these is a unique experience you must try if spending nights in the sky is your thing.

7. Treehouse Utopia

Utopia, Texas

Utopia is situated in South Texas, near Bandera, and is approximately a 1.5-hour drive from downtown San Antonio. Treehouse Utopia has four treehouse rentals, all high up in the trees, with many stairs to climb and fairy lights to adore. Treehouses feature a bedroom, a sitting room, a full bathroom with a clawfoot tub, and a private deck for relaxation. Glamping treehouse rentals start at $475/night.

Things to do in the area:

  • Lost Maples State Natural Area is known for its spectacular show of Fall colors and is a year-round attraction for hiking, birding, and fishing.
  • Lost Maples Winery – Enjoy wine tasting and live music 15 minutes north of Utopia.
  • Garner State Park – one of the most visited parks in the entire Lone Star State. With just under 1,800 acres of scenic Hill Country terrain and miles of the Frio River running through it, visitors can swim, tube, hike, and explore the natural surroundings.

8. Guadalupe River Houses

New Braunfels

There are over twenty vacation houses to rent, but the Redwood Tree Haus is an extraordinary treehouse surrounded by a pool and beautiful trees. It’s perfect for families with kids. The treehouse features a king-size bed for the parents, a community playground area underneath for the kids, and a pool for everyone. There is also a spiral staircase and many more excellent amenities.

Things to do in the area:

  • Schlitterbahn
  • Guadalupe River
  • Comal River
  • Landa Park

9. The Silver Spur Resort

Canton, TX (East Texas)

It’s just as fun underneath as on top! Silver Spur Resort’s newest addition is a glamping treehouse with an ideal spot outside for picnics and family games. It has a queen-size bed, bunk beds, a bathroom, a small kitchenette, and a table. Silver Spur also offers cabins and the coolest Conestoga Wagons for rent, perfect for large groups or those who want to experience sleeping in a wagon like the pioneers once did. Picnic tables, a swing, and a vast area to play are also available when renting the treehouse.

I’ve stayed in one of their wagons and this treehouse; both are an experience. My grandson enjoyed his time at both, especially fishing in the pond and running around the entire place without me watching over him. I felt very secure here.

If you choose to stay here, you’re lucky because their restaurant, Q & Brew Barbecue, is just a short walk from the treehouse. It’s great when you don’t want to cook outdoors on the charcoal BBQ grill provided.

Guests can enjoy a lovely swimming pool and other outdoor games. There are also plenty of spaces for RVers to park their RVs and stay as long as they like.

10. Best Day Ever Ranch

Whitewright, TX (North of Dallas)

Although we did not stay in the treehouse during our visit back in 2016, we did enjoy the ranch for two full days in a cabin with amenities and an outdoor shower. Best Day Ever Ranch is ideal for a romantic getaway because you’re all alone and secluded from the rest of the cabins. If you ever want to get married, check out this place for your wedding ceremony – it’s a fantastic place to say your vows in their upscale event center.

Since we’ve been there, they have added a beautiful swimming pool, more cabins, and amenities. Paul, the owner, has done a grand job building his ranch, his long-time childhood dream. They may have other glamping treehouse rentals that I’m not aware of.

11. Geronimo Creek Retreat

Seguin (30 mins east of San Antonio)

Geronimo Creek Retreat, a unique creekside resort in Seguin, TX, features treehouses surrounding a spring-fed pond, teepees, and glamping cabins. You can feel as if you’re fully immersed in nature, yet enjoy the comforts of modern amenities, including air conditioning, bathrooms, and WiFi, in the treehouses.

12. HoneyTree Farm Treehomes & Hideaways

Tree Houses for Rent in Texas Hill Country, Texas (Fredericksburg)

HoneyTree Farm has five treehouse options on 10 acres overlooking Palo Alto Creek. Oh, which one will you choose? Each one is distinct from the next. It appears to be a special place for romance to me. The Leaf Treehouse would be my option just because I could sit by the unique round window to read a magazine or ponder my plans as I gaze out the window.

13. Grandview Treetops

Grandview, Texas

Not too far from Downtown Fort Worth, only 12 or so minutes from the Cleburne State Park, you’ll be in a quiet place surrounded by nature. You’ll enjoy a comfy bed, a luxurious bathroom, large windows, and a private deck – all this in nature …and it’s in a treehouse! This is my kind of place! Find Grandview Treetops on Airbnb starting at $207/night. Wheelchair accessible. It’s almost a perfect 5-point star rating.

Things to do in the area:

  • Horseback riding at Beaumont Ranch
  • Chisholm Trail Outdoor Museum (Cleburne)
  • Antique shopping

14. Waco Creekside Resort

A relaxing retreat minutes from downtown and Magnolia Market.

Address: 1972 Leroy Parkway, Elm Mott, TX 76640, (254) 651-3999 Resort

There you go, you’ve got several glamping treehouse rentals in Texas to choose from in different areas of Texas. Do I want a place that offers water sports, a nearby grocery store, a bedroom balcony, or something for my family to enjoy? All these unique treehouses provide something you wouldn’t see or get to experience if you stayed in a hotel. Have fun!
