Top Five Reasons to Visit Schlitterbahn New Braunfels

Top 5 Reasons to Visit Schlitterbahn New Braunfels

Here are the top five reasons to visit Schlitterbahn New Braunfels.

New Braunfels, TX, is just a few hours south of the Dallas Fort Worth area. It is known for its quaint German town and the Texas Family Waterpark Schlitterbahn New Braunfels. Making Memories is what families do there. And because of this, I am sharing the top five reasons to visit Schlitterbahn New Braunfels.

It had been years since I’ve visited Schlitterbahn New Braunfels. Now that my kids are self-sufficient and I’ve learned to embrace my worries a little better, I am more willing to (and do!) thoroughly enjoy the park.

Courtney’s family was invited to Schlitterbahn as part of a partnership with the waterpark and Texas Travel Talk. The partnership included lodging, food & beverage, and compensation for the trip. The opinions reflected are honest and based on my own experience.

Schlitterbahn New Braunfels

Not only is Schlitterbahn New Braunfels a favorite Texas Waterpark, it’s also America’s favorite waterpark! Did you know the park has the world’s longest tube ride? I’m not sure I’d ride the tube ride because I’m a sissy, but I bet my family would.

These days my family and I can all jump in a tube, on the same ride or not, and meet at a designated spot – usually the lazy river. It’s fantastic! There are many great reasons to visit Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, but I’m sharing my personal favorites with you today.

My Favorite 5 Reasons To Visit Schlitterbahn New Braunfels

Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is their flagship waterpark and has been America’s #1 waterpark for years. It’s won awards for the best waterpark and the best waterpark ride (The Master Blaster), and now the best new ride (Dragon’s Revenge).

Did you know that Schlitterbahn offers free parking and free life jackets?

1. Rivers, Rides, Slides, and Chutes

  • With over 50 attractions to choose from, there’s a TON of fun at the park! My favorite is the Torrent River (I’ve nicknamed it the Wavy Lazy River, though!).

2. Family-Friendly Fun

  • Schlitterbahn is meant for the young and young at heart. There is something for everyone! Whether you want to jump in the water as we do or sit on the side and watch your family have fun – it’s all good!

3. You Can Bring A Cooler Full Of Food

  • Pack a picnic! Pack snacks, lunch, dinner, and plenty of drinks (no glass or alcohol, please!). Bring your cooler into the park so your family can eat when they’re ready, and you don’t have to spend a ton of money on food.

4. Fun Food Options

  • But in case you do want to purchase food at the waterpark, it’s available. There are several fun food choices all across the park. To celebrate Schlitterbahn’s 40th anniversary, I highly recommend the Birthday Cake Funnel Cake – if they still serve it.

5. On-Property Lodging

  • There are perks to staying at the Resort at Schlitterbahn – early access to the Blastenhoff Section, resort pools, waterpark access the day of check-in through the entire day of check out, and more! They even show movies out on the lawn with free popcorn for everyone! Bring your blanket and chairs for this activity.

There are so many things to enjoy at Schlitterbahn, and those listed above are just a few of my favorites. As much as I still don’t appreciate water in my face, I love the freedom of taking a step out of my comfort zone and relishing in the memory-making moments with my family.

While making summer plans to visit the Texas family waterpark, America’s #1 waterpark, don’t forget to pack good water shoes, sunscreen, drinks, and lunch!
