It all started with 178 acres of raw land and a dream to create a home with endless opportunities to nurture the body and soul. Two people much in love – a retired physician and his wife wanted a tranquil place in the hill country where their family could enjoy outdoors hearing nothing but the birds singing and the ripples of the water—a place where adventures meet self-care. Visit With The Alpacas At Madrone Spring Ranch

Alpacas are precious animals. Bobby and his wife rescued the alpacas and brought them to the ranch. They are so timid, but I could feed one but barely got to touch them. To me, alpacas have added beauty to the ranch. And, for these people to have adopted them means the world to me. I just about cried when he told me.

Other animals on the ranch include Axis deer, Fallow deer, antelope, and the cutest miniature donkeys I’ve ever seen.

Caves To Explore

With the property being so large, you will run into caves and crevices on your journey around the ranch. There’s nothing better than finding unmanned caves and looking inside!

Hiking Trails To Wander

Take some time to smell the clean air, take in all the beauty, and get some outdoor exercise. You’ll enjoy the moment whether you hike, walk, or stroll. I enjoyed reading the signs along the way. You will too.

If you feel like venturing out to see more of the Hill Country, there are plenty of beer gardens, wineries, and restaurants, in Johnson City and Dripping Springs. If time allows, the ranch is minutes from the Pedernales Falls State Park and is another adventure all in itself.
