Best RV Park In Wimberley, TX + 6 Parks to Visit

Get your RV summer road trip ready and head to the Hill Country.

Escape to the best Texas offers on a Hill Country getaway for those fantastic scenic views, unforgettable sunsets, wineries, rivers, and loads of memories. Families encouraged! I recently stayed at Horseshoe Ridge RV Resort. It’s conveniently located near Austin, San Marcos, and San Antonio. As you search for the best RV park in Wimberley, TX, check out this place, too.

Horseshoe Ridge RV Resort hosted my visit. All opinions are my own.

Best RV Park In Wimberley, TX

There are many choices when it comes to RVing in the Hill Country. Horseshoe Ridge RV Resort is a great option. It is located off Ranch Road 12 and down the road from Jacob’s Well, just a few miles outside of downtown Wimberley. Its RV accommodations are top-notch, and it’s also pet-friendly. I was delighted that my dog, Cody, got to go. He loves to travel with me. This is the perfect RV site for RV snowbirds.

Luxury Cabins At Horseshoe Ridge RV Resort

In addition to the many RV spots at the resort, three cabins are available for rent. These cabins are perfect for accommodating extra family members or for renting as a family to enjoy the park and the town of Wimberley. I stayed in the Mingo cabin. It was darling and has a queen bed, a loft with a king bed, a kitchen, a bathroom, a den, a porch, and all the kitchen amenities you probably have at home. And, free Netflix!

6 Beautiful Parks Of Wimberley

While there are six beautiful parks in Wimberley that offer natural beauty just as Mother Nature intended, there are plenty more things to do in Wimberley, TX. Expect minimal development, nature trails, breathtaking views, and an open year-round environment.

The swimming season starts on May 1st at all city parks in Wimberley.

25 Best Things To Do In Wimberley Texas

1. Blue Hole

Reservations are required for swimming, but it’s free to roam around the trails and park otherwise. Swimming at the Blue Hole starts May 1, 2025. You can now reserve your day pass on the website. Some days are already sold out. Blue Hole Regional Park. Only service animals are allowed.

2. Jacob’s Well Natural Area & Park

Jacob’s Well is a free park where people can enjoy hiking, birding, geocaching, guided tours, the nature center, and other park amenities. Only leashed service animals are allowed.

Unfortunately, swimming at Jacob’s Well is no longer allowed due to low water levels. This park is not pet-friendly. Please leave them at home or in the cabin, not in the car.

You will park your car and then walk to Jacob’s Well. No driving is allowed. I saw lots of parking.

3. Cypress Creek Nature Trail & Preserve

107 Old Kyle Rd, Wimberley, TX 78676. Located in town.

No camping or fishing at Cypress Creek.

The trail is open year-round. Dogs are welcome. It’s a beautiful park for the whole family.

4. Patsy Glenn

Patsy Glenn Park is located next to the Wimberley Community Center and in the same vicinity as the Wimberley Valley Museum and the historic home of Mr. Wimberley, for whom the town is named—the best park for observing migrating birds, wildlife, and native plants in the area.

5. Martha Knies Community Park

This park is located right off the Wimberley Square on Old Kyle Road. It features a covered picnic pavilion, restrooms, a fountain, and a children’s playground.

6. Old Baldy Park

If you can climb all those 218 steep stairs to the top, you’ll see a beautiful view of Wimberley Valley. If you plan to climb, wear comfy shoes, take your time, and bring water. I saw many people taking the trek. It’s very doable, but this girl didn’t do it (maybe next time). Its location is in a neighborhood about a 2.5-mile drive from Wimberley Square. Parking is limited, but it’s free.

No camping allowed at Old Baldy. Also, no fishing at Old Baldy. Pet-friendly.

Wimberley Winery And Brewery

Visit the Wimberley Valley Winery for a winery experience with wine tastings, award-winning wines, beautiful indoor space, and outdoor space big enough for the kids to roam with animals to see. If there are non-wine drinkers in your bunch, don’t worry. As you walk inside the winery, a brewery is on the right. A food truck is available Friday through Sunday from 11 am until the winery closes.

As you can see, there’s a lot to do in this small river town, and staying at the best RV park in Wimberley, TX, is a big bonus, thanks to its location just minutes away from town.
