San Antonio River Walk
The San Antonio River Walk is the city’s signature experience—and the number one attraction in Texas. It winds around lined restaurants, shops, historic sites, and cultural landmarks. It’s both a city park and a pedestrian district, stretching through downtown and connecting major attractions like the Alamo, La Villita, the San Antonio Museum of Art, and the Pearl.

The Alamo
Every kid needs to visit the Alamo, especially those in elementary school, since this is when they start to learn about Texas history. My son missed out on his 4th-grade school trip because of the pandemic. Fast-forward, it’s time I take him – he’s now 16 years old. Updates are underway at the Alamo now and will be completed through 2028. But nevertheless, the Alamo is always a sure bet for a great history lesson with the kids.
