Girl's Getaway In Marble Falls

Plan your girl’s getaway in Marble Falls!

The Texas Hill Country is an excellent area to get away and enjoy time doing the things needed for a bit of self-care and fun. And the town of Marble Falls is in the midst of it all, with fabulous things to offer travelers. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a long hike in nature, or a full shopping day, there’s something here for everyone. Our girl’s getaway in Marble Falls was just what we needed to boost our mental and physical health. One of the best road trips I’ve taken this year!

Disclosure: The city of Marble Falls hosted us on a fun girl’s getaway, including accommodations, meals, and compensation. All opinions are my very own.

Girl's Getaway In Marble Falls

Hidden Falls Inn Lake Marble Falls

First, you’ll want to find a place to stay with everything a girl needs and wants. Words can’t describe how beautiful Hidden Falls Inn is with its location on Lake Marble Falls. And, the hotel offers three of my favorite things for free – WIFI, parking, and breakfast …and the lake view from our room wasn’t bad either.

You may want to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast, but two restaurants are adjacent to the hotel with lake views when lunch and dinner roll around.

The outdoor pool and hot tub face the lake, and we found ourselves out more than once. It’s a nice spot to wind down after a full shopping day!

Explore Lakeside Park Lake Marble Falls

Lake Marble Falls is one of the lakes in the Highland Lakes region, the largest chain of lakes in the area. Lakeside Park is on the lake, perfect for boating, swimming, and dipping your toes. You can see the park from the hotel, and it’s within walking distance, but we drove.

If you happen to be in town on the weekend and want to rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard, look up Just Yakin. They will bring the equipment to you.

Travel Pro Tip: The park is within a 2-minute walk to downtown.

If there’s time in your day, visit Johnson Park. It’s also a family-friendly and pet-friendly park.

Shop Downtown Marble Falls

Downtown is the center of attention, with some of the best shopping in Marble Falls. It’s easy to fall in love with this area from boutiques, gift shops, bakeries, wineries, sweets, public art, and restaurants. Esther and I had super fun shopping at all the wonderful locally-owned shops. After all, what girl doesn’t like to shop—I’ve not met her!  We shopped two days in a row and went back to our favorites.

Monroe’s On Main

Oh my, there are two! The boutique I’ve gone to a couple of times is by Fiesta Winery, but we noticed another store (with different items) next door to ReDid on this trip. Both stores feature women’s clothing, shoes, hats, and jewelry. They are both my favorite boutiques, and I love their prices. Esther’s shirt and hat (above) are from the one by the winery.

ReDid

We’ve deemed ReDid our favorite home decor store. We first thought it was a recycling shop because of the name. But once inside, you’ll know it’s not. The architectural pieces, vintage industrial decor, antique metals, and those lovely-smelling candles prove otherwise. Esther and I were all over the decor here, and I had to buy a candle!

Lula’s On Main

Lula’s is an upscale ladies’ apparel, accessories, home decor, and gifts boutique. It’s closed on Monday, but most shops we saw were open.

Eve Couture

Eve Couture is a trendy, colorful boutique that features clothes, accessories, gift items, and such. Millennials will love this shop.

Ms Lollipop’s Fun, Parties, And Gifts

For your sweet tooth, stop in and get a scoop of ice cream or any candy you can think of – they’ve got it. Ms. Lollipop is the perfect spot for all ages …plus, Elvis is in the house!!

Choccolate’s / Oh La La

Need an afternoon coffee break? Choccolate’s offers coffee and yummy lattes; you have to sample their world’s best pecan English toffee. Esther enjoyed a latte, and I bought the toffee! Oh, and the gift shop has cute home accessories and gifts galore.

And, if you want to venture off Main Street, head to The Market on H at 206 Ave H. Shops include Blue Suede Shoes and more upscale shops. It’s within walking distance. Blue Suede Shoes and various other shops are there.

Art In Marble Falls

Unique public art lines the street downtown. Plus a couple of art galleries to peruse.

  • Harmony Park
  • Sculpture On Main
  • Marta Stafford Fine Art Gallery
  • Indian River Gallery

When you’re done here, grab a beer at one of the breweries in town. Some are walking distance from downtown.

Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge

Balcones Canyonlands is home to many native Texas wildlife and plants and is the perfect place to connect to nature. There are easy trails for hiking and many signage to read about the wildlife that call the refuge home. Be sure to bring your binoculars to look for birds. If you forget yours, the visitor center has a few to use.

As you’re traveling on Hwy 1431 to the refuge, you’ll be delighted with scenic views of the hill country. It’s my favorite scenic drive in Marble Falls.

Sweet Berry Farm

I love this farm, but it wasn’t open when we went. They just ended their strawberry picking season and are gearing up for the sunflower season on May 28th, when you can cut your own sunflowers. The farm is spread out on both sides of the road, with fun things to do. There is no admission or parking fee, but bring money for the fun activities. Credit cards are welcome. Sweet Berry Farm is fun for everyone, and girls love flowers!!

Travel Pro Tip: The farm is always closed on Wednesdays. It’s also a good idea to check the website before you go.

Wineries In Marble Falls

Fiesta Winery is situated in a great downtown spot and within walking distance of all the shopping.

Flat Creek Estate Winery and Vineyard is located just outside Marble Falls with scenic views, tastings, and food.

Flat Creek Enoteca is located off Hwy 281 with live music.

If you want to go winery hopping, Burnet has a few good ones.

Where To Eat In Marble Falls

With lakeside dining, quaint coffee shops, and the best pie in town, you’ll have no problem finding great restaurants in Marble Falls to enjoy on your girl’s getaway.

Numinous Coffee Roasters

Off Hwy 1431

For an artisan coffee roaster experience, head to Numinous Coffee Roasters. You’ll enjoy fresh coffee of your choosing, tea, baked goods, and plenty of seating indoors and out. Don’t forget to pick up fresh-baked sourdough bread to take with you!

River City Grille

Adjacent to Hidden Falls Inn

Enjoy lakefront dining inside or on the deck at the American fare restaurant. Choose from burgers, chicken fried steak, steak, and fish tacos. They also serve this mean top-shelf margarita which I had to partake in! It went marvelous with my fish tacos.

Travel Pro Tip: River City Grille is within walking distance from Hidden Falls Inn and has excellent views of Lake Marble Falls.

Darci’s Deli

Downtown

While waiting on Esther to arrive, I enjoyed a lite lunch of half NY-style turkey sandwich and taco soup at Darci’s Deli. It was more than enough for lunch. You may want to ask about their daily specials.

Ginger And Spice

Downtown

Just before leaving town, I dined at Ginger & Spice for lunch. I couldn’t decide on this dish or sushi, and I can’t believe I didn’t choose sushi because it’s my favorite.

Girl's Getaway In Marble Falls

Blue Bonnet Cafe

On Hwy 281

Voted “Best Breakfast in Texas” by Texas Highways Magazine, Blue Bonnet Cafe is not to be missed on your getaway in Marble Falls. Plus, they offer pie happy hour Mon-Fri from 3-5 pm. Pies include apple, cherry, peach, pecan, and fudge – just a few!

For your next girl’s weekend getaway, consider a trip to Marble Falls! Be sure to stop by the Marble Falls Visitor Center for more information on this fun Texas Hill Country town.

If you have more time to visit other towns around, I suggest visiting Johnson City and Dripping Springs. Both are my favorite towns in the hill country.
