It’s not too late to plan a summer getaway at this family resort on Lake Livingston in East Texas.

I have to say—East Texas has the most greenery I’ve seen in Texas and some of the best lakes with cabins to rent. With its tall pine trees on both sides of the roads, all I could do (while driving) was stare at them. You don’t see that anywhere else in Texas. The best East Texas family resort is Two Creeks Crossing, Livingston, TX.

Did you know there is a luxury RV and cabin resort east of Huntsville, TX? Two Creeks Crossing Resort on Lake Livingston just celebrated its first anniversary. The resort is three hours east of Dallas and a one-hour drive from Houston. It’s the perfect getaway to get away with family and pet-friendly!

Two Creeks Crossing Resort hosted my family. All opinions of the resort are mine.

My family and I spent three nights at the resort. Yes, the generation gap was apparent, but we had a great time and found things to do that pleased us all. We also took our dogs – so this was a win-win getaway for me, my 85-year-old mom, and my 14-year-old son. However, I can’t believe I didn’t get one photo of them.

Luxury waterfront RV sites, waterfront cabins, yurts, and glamping are just the beginning of this family resort in East Texas. From swimming in the resort-style pool, grilling, playing on the lawn, having a kid-friendly game night, and so much more, Two Creeks Crossing Resort has everything you need for a family vacation.

Pet-Friendly East Texas Family Resort

Our cabin was pet-friendly. Although pets are not allowed inside the office, on the Ice House lawn, or by the pool, we enjoyed taking them for walks, and they were happy we didn’t have to leave them at home this time. My only hope is that they change their policy about allowing dogs on the lawn. We would have stayed longer listening to music had our dogs got to be with us.

Walks From The Cabin

We took several walks daily from our cabin to enjoy the view of other cabins, the yurts, and the water. It was a very enjoyable time—not too hot in the morning or late evening. We even walked to the pool and Swampers for pizza and a hot dog!

Swampers Icehouse

For some good ole pizza, hot dogs, beer, and lawn fun, head to Swampers. They also have live music on weekends and plenty of lawn games to entertain the younger kids. Be sure to check their hours because they are not open all the time as of right now.

Evening time.

Pool-side

Evening time was the best time for this kid to swim. He practically had the pool to himself. The pool and hot tub is a luxury-style pool with a walk-in splash pad and water foundation surrounded by many poolside chairs, loungers, and a large pavilion with community fire pits. No matter what you come here to do, the pool is always the center of attention – and it’s huge!

Kayaking on Lake Livingston at Two Creeks Crossing Resort

Kayaking On Lake Livingston

For $1o or $15 each, we reserved two kayaks for one hour and paddled down the river. There was a waterfall about 30 minutes away, but sadly, we couldn’t make it – these arms of mine gave out, and we turned around. But that’s a sight to see (so I heard) for the stronger kayaker to see!

Lake Livingston State Park

We took time out from the resort to visit Lake Livingston State Park, and glad we did. It’s a very nice Texas State Park and one I would return to. There are many East Texas State Parks, but none are as pretty as this one, and that offers so much summertime fun.

So, next time you plan a family trip, consider Two Creeks Crossing Resort for fun by the lake, poolside, kayaking, walks, and all the fun on the lawn at Stumper’e Ice House.
