Things To Do in Boyd, TX, on a Day Trip

Where everything slows down this side of Fort Worth.

There’s a reason people slip away to the countryside, even for a short escape. Out there, the world slows down, time stretches, and you’re reminded of how it feels to really catch your breath. Well, that’s what you’ll find in this small town of a population of only 2,590, just 30 minutes north of downtown Fort Worth. Discover fun things to do in Boyd, TX, for an afternoon or longer.

In Boyd, you can enjoy a morning or afternoon of picking strawberries at a local farm (when in season), then hop over to TJ Winery to sip your favorite glass of Texas wine, the only winery in town. And maybe stay longer for lunch, and perhaps book a spa treatment. If you like racing cars, catch a drag race at the local race track, if you’re up to it. That’s a full day right there!

Things To Do in Boyd, TX

Boyd is where the slow pace is real. It’s where residents tend to know one another, and local events revolve around schools, churches, and seasonal gatherings rather than constant nightlife or big‑city bustle. The further you go, the slower it gets … and many people love that.

Travel Tip: Be sure to visit Boyd on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday when the winery is open. Check the times.

Demases Farm

496 CR 4756, Boyd

Demase Farm is a vegetable and fruit farm that offers pick-your-own strawberries from April through May. They also have a farm stand (red building) up from the strawberry fields on the right. Various produce is sold there along with farm-raised eggs, milk, jellies, jams, and more.

Travel Tip: Always call before you go to their strawberry fields, as they are not open every day. (940) 577-0203.

TF Vineyard & Winery

162 PR 4689, Boyd

Enjoy a glass or a bottle of wine at TF Vineyard & Winery, a small winery off the beaten path down a rock road in Boyd. Choose to sit indoors or on the cozy outdoor patio overlooking the vineyard, and hit up the fire pits when the weather turns cold. They offer sweet and dry Texas wines, slushes, swirls, and charcuterie boards, pizzas, and other foods. We enjoyed a wine tasting of their dry reds, and I think I found another favorite – Red Zinfandel. It was surprisingly very good!

Winery hours are Thursday 3-7, Friday 1-7, and Sunday 12-6.

Lemon + Leigh Medspa & Wellness

440 W Rock Island Ave.

Become a brand new YOU at LEMON + LEIGH. Bring a girlfriend and share the love.

Olive & Co. Salon and Spa

327 Co Rd 4765, Boyd

Get spoiled at Olive & Co. with a massage, facial, pair of eyelashes, brows, haircut, and more.

There are some specialty diners, along with restaurant chains and coffee shops, that are open in Boyd. Check the hours before heading there. There are choices in town, and these are the ones that stood out. But don’t forget the winery also serves food.

  • Gogo Gumbo – Canjun and Seafood open 4 to 9 pm.
  • Sam’s BBQ is open until 9 pm.
