Here are many family festivals & events in North Texas you’ll want to make a note of for 2025.

Family Festivals & Events in North Texas

The North Texas region, often called Dallas/Fort Worth or DFW Metroplex by locals, covers a broad geographic area with a mix of urban, suburban, and rural landscapes. But this area is much more than just these cities, including Denton and Arlington. The area also has smaller towns like Decatur, McKinney, Plano, etc., that offer families fun things to do in Texas. 2025 North Texas Auto Show

February 20-23, 2025

Dinosaurs Live! McKinney

Through February 15, 2025

Encounter a 46-foot tall T-Rex and ten new life-size animatronic dinosaurs at the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary at 1 Nature Place, McKinney.

Dallas Blooms at Dallas Arboretum

February 22 – April 13, 2025

Dallas Blooms is the largest annual floral festival in the Southwest. If you love the many colors of tulips, this is where to see them in early spring.

North Texas Irish Festival

February 28 – March 2, 2025

The North Texas Irish Festival is truly a celebration of Celtic heritage and culture, and it’s one of the most anticipated events in the region each year. With its vibrant mix of traditional Irish music, lively dance performances, delicious food, and a wide variety of spirits, it’s a fantastic way for families and visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in Irish traditions. The festival also highlights storytelling, arts and crafts, and a variety of activities that showcase the rich history and modern-day vitality of Irish culture, not only in Ireland but also here in North Texas.

Dallas Travel & Adventure Show

March 22-23, 2025

The Dallas Travel & Adventure Show is a fantastic way to kickstart your next vacation. It’s a one-stop event open to the public to explore the latest travel trends, discover new destinations, and meet industry experts who can guide you in planning your perfect getaway. Take advantage of the expert advice and travel deals available at the event! Dallas Market Hall, 2200 Stemmons Freeway. Parking is free. From experience, get there early for a good parking space.

Texas Forever Fest – Plano

March 22, 2025

Celebrate food, art, and the people of Texas. Enjoy live music, food trucks, and Texas-themed vendors at Texas Forever Fest at Haggard Park. FREE

Spirits of Texas Tasting is for adults 21+ and requires advance purchase of a $40 ticket.

Breakaway Music Festival – Dallas

April 4-5, 2025

Dallas Fair Park – Breakaway Music Festival

Big Texas Beer Fest – Dallas

April 12, 2025, 1:30 – 7 pm.

Big Texas Beer Fest is held at the Dallas Fair Park. $45 a ticket for ages 21+.

Annual Main Street Fest – Grand Prairie

Is moving to fall – TBA

Free parking and admission. Main Street Fest.

Germanfest – Muenster, TX

April 25-27, 2025

The festival will include a 5K and 15K fun run, a bike rally, a cook-off, and more. Heritage Park Event Center will house the festival.

Scarborough Renaissance Festival – Waxahachie

April 5 – May 26, 2025, 10 am to 7 pm.

The Scarborough Renaissance Festival will again fill the grounds in Waxahachie with live entertainment, vendors, food, and fun for the whole family. NEW this year – Day tickets are now “date specific,” be careful choosing your day to attend.

Mayfest – Fort Worth

May 1-4, 2025

Mayfest is a highlight of the year in Fort Worth, showcasing the spirit of community with an incredible mix of entertainment and activities. With its diverse offerings—live music, carnival rides, performing arts, and more—it’s an event the whole family can enjoy. Whether enjoying a concert, shopping for unique gifts, or simply taking in the beautiful surroundings, Mayfest is the ultimate celebration of Fort Worth’s vibrant culture and community.
