Halfway between Dallas and Houston is a spectacular holiday wonderland that is a must-see.
Have you heard what the holiday craze is in Central East Texas between Dallas and Houston? Well, if you haven’t, I’m here to spill the beans. It’s a hidden gem off I-45, about 2 hrs from Dallas and 100 miles from Houston. Small-town Madisonville, TX, is showing off for the holidays—well, actually year-round—with holiday lights. Here are things to do in Madisonville, TX, for the holidays, and why you should visit!
Disclosure: I was hosted at Yuletide RV Park for one incredible night!

Things To Do In Madisonville, TX for the Holidays
Why, yes, the small town of Madisonville is known as the “Mushroom Capital of Texas,” and hosts an annual festival to celebrate the fungi – but that already happened in October. So you’ll have to wait until next year for that. However, I’m here to talk about the holidays and Christmas shopping.

Madisonville Christmas Company Store
It’s a 30,000-square-foot one-of-a-kind Christmas store. This is only their 3rd year in business, so many of you don’t know about it. Heck, I just found out about it not too long ago, and knew I had to go check it out.
The Madisonville Christmas Co. has holiday decor, Christmas gifts, stocking stuffers, gifts for Santa, gifts for under the tree, and a whole row dedicated to just ribbons – even gift cards and a cute restaurant inside the store.
Your holiday headquarters awaits—where curated collections, beautifully styled décor, and heartfelt hospitality come together. From trimming the tree to hosting festive gatherings or simply basking in the season’s sparkle, they make every moment joyful and effortless
Make it a Texas road trip with the family and celebrate the season in style with their newest collection—where timeless favorites meet festive flair. If you can’t make it this year, no problem, you can shop online.
Things to do in Madisonville, TX, for the holidays in all in one place: Madisonville Christmas Store, Yuletide RV Park, Christmas 25 restaurant inside, and The Mantel Restaurant and bar on the yard.

Yuletide RV Park & Casitas
When I arrived, I saw many RVs pulling in. But, if you don’t have an RV, like me, there are about eight casitas (cabins) to rent …and they are adorable – all decorated in Christmas year-round. Mine had a huge Christmas tree and a bunch of Christmas gnomes scattered around, and two TVs. The casitas come with a full kitchen, a small washer and dryer, and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. That mattress pad was thick and cozy.
My casita #3 was right next to the community firepit. There’s wood and firestarter there, and cozy chairs all around. Best part – the trees are lit with various colors of holiday lights – picture below. Grab the blanket from inside the cabins and take it with you – it’s cuddle time!
Here are a few pictures of the casitas inside and out.

But wait, that’s not all. There is a restaurant and a bar just steps away from the store and RV park. Plus, pizza and a huge area to play!

The Mantel at Madisonville Christmas Co. Store
Enjoy a full restaurant serving up hamburgers and all kinds of American food. I had the delicious, fully loaded hamburger with chips, and the best festive martini ever.
