Weekend in Lindale, TX

You’ll be tickled pink visiting the hometown of Miranda Lambert.

Lindale, TX, is known as the Entertainment Capital of East Texas and has also been named an Official Texas Music-Friendly Community. It is most notable as the hometown of singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert. So, it’s a pretty busy town. But there is more to this small town where history runs deep. See why we think a weekend in Lindale, TX, should be on your next road trip.

Lindale is thirteen miles from Tyler, one-and-a-half hours from Dallas, and three-and-a-half hours from Houston, making it a great getaway with your family.

Disclosure: Lindale, TX, rolled out the pink carpet and hosted me for a fun weekend during the Piney Woods Wine Trail Festival. All opinions are my very own.

Spend A Fabulous Weekend In Lindale, TX

Year-round, this vibrant small town rich in history offers visitors a place to enjoy the outdoors, eat good comfort food, shop until you drop, and relax and unwind in between all that. It boasts historical places, such as the iconic Lindale Candy Company, which has been making candy for over 75 years, and the Old Mill Pond Museum, which features historical treasures. Read on to see what else this small town boasts about.

Things To Do On A Weekend In Lindale, TX

Visiting Lindale is a fun experience with various attractions for the whole family. It’s known for its live music scene, local wine, boutiques, and family-friendly events. It is also close to many of East Texas’s State Parks. In April and October, Lindale hosts the Piney Woods Wine Trail Festival. The festival includes 25 East Texas wineries, artisan vendors, and food trucks.

Most places I visited on this trip are within walking distance of my hotel, which is a bonus. I love a small town where you can park and walk. The only place I had to drive to was the Old Mill Pond Museum, about a three-mile drive from downtown.

Weekend in Lindale, TX

1. Picker’s Pavilion at Blackberry Square

The historic Picker’s Pavilion was formerly a cannery storage facility. It’s now used for public and private events, from the Piney Woods Wine Trail Festival in spring and fall, the Christmas in Lindale Celebration, and the Lindale Chamber Countryfest and Car Show.

2. Lindale Candy Company

The Lindale Candy Co. has operated since 1946, making its popular chocolate and peppermint candy. Every piece of candy is made right in the back of the store, and there is even a window for onlookers to watch them make it. This is where locals and visitors go for gifts, souvenirs, and to taste a piece or two of candy for themselves. Summer is a busy time for them, but it’s even busier when winter comes around because candy makes a great holiday gift!

I was flabbergasted that I got to be up front and inside where they made the peppermint candy. I even watched how they made a peppermint dress for a Barbie doll. What a great gift for a little girl. Did you know it has to stay warm inside for the peppermint to roll just right—I’m talking at least 105 degrees. I was in there for more than an hour. It was hot!

3. Old Mill Pond Museum

This rustic museum on 28 acres is filled with timely treasures and artifacts depicting early American Life between 1850 and 1950. Everything at the museum, inside and out, was collected by one man, Mr. Bill Parrott. He was an engineer, builder, and a pilot in the Korean War.

While at the museum, you can see his tractor collection in the tractor barn, walk around the pond to the chapel and ring the bell, and shop in the General Store for gifts and keepsakes. Watch the water wheel go around outside while powering objects inside. That’s pretty cool.

The museum is wall-to-wall with collections of Mr. Parrott’s over the years. He donated it all to the City of Lindale.

The Old Mill Pond Museum is open Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm and has free admission.

4. The Pink Pistol Boutique

It’s a boutique… a pink boutique! The Pink Pistol is Miranda Lambert’s one-of-a-kind boutique in Lindale, TX. It’s filled with trendy fashions and gift-giving items and is open seven days a week.

5. Red 55 Winery & Ponderosa Pour House

Hang out at Miranda Lambert’s Red 55 Winery and enjoy a glass from her signature wine line, or indulge in a beer at the Ponderosa Pour House, both inside The Pink Pistol Boutique. Hours may vary.

6. Texas Music City Grill & Smokehouse

The Texas Music City Grill & Smokehouse is a come-as-you-are venue featuring comfort food, steaks, chicken-fried ribeyes, and the best peach cobbler topped with ice cream you’ll ever have. There is also live music and karaoke. See the lineup on the website.

Eat a fabulous lunch here, and save room for dinner at LaCascio’s across the street.

7. LaCasio’s Scratch Italian

LaCasio’s Scratch Italian is a casual place to dine for lunch or dinner. They offer great Italian food, wine, and the best bread before your meal. I could feast on just the bread and be happy. I ordered the Chicken Broccolini and took leftovers with me.

8. Stay In the Miranda Suite at SpringHill Suites by Marriott

One of the newest hotels in Lindale is SpringHill Suites by Marriott, where you’ll find the Miranda Suite, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite decked out in Miranda’s favorite color, pink. The suite also features dreamy rose wallpaper and photos of the singer-songwriter.

The hotel is within walking distance to the eateries, The Pink Pistol, Darden Harvest Park, and Picker’s Pavilion. I stayed here and enjoyed not having to get into my car every time I went somewhere. Enjoy a complimentary breakfast each morning you are there. Most importantly, if you’d like to elevate your stay, by all means, rent the Miranda suite.

9. Darden Harvest Park

Darden Harvest Park is a lovely, family-friendly park to walk around. It’s also pet-friendly and has a playground and a delightful gazebo overlooking the water and foundation. It’s directly across from the Picker’s Pavilion and within walking distance of SpringHill Suites.

10. Lindale Country Flea Market

20549 North St, Lindale, TX 75771

A flea market that offers various goods. Search for them on Facebook for the latest news.

Opened every Friday, Saturday, & Sunday 9 am to 4 pm.

11. Shop In Downtown Lindale

The Main Street Market Antique & Vintage Goods is the best in town (I hear). It’s overflowing with antiques, collectables, and vintage decor on the walls and in every room. I love coming here and finding treasures. You can’t miss it – it’s on Main Street across from The Pink Pistol.

Besides the antique store, plenty of other locally-owned boutiques and bookstores exist.

12. Collin Street Bakery

A Texas Bakery & Cafe off I-20 in Lindale is a great place to stop for a delicious pastry on your way out of town. There are only four in Texas—two in Corsicana and one in Waco. I love their pecan pie.

13. Piney Woods Wine Trail Festival Fall 2025

By all means, plan for the fall festival, which will be held at the Picker’s Pavilion in Lindale on October 17-18, 2025, and feature at least 25 wineries and artisan vendors.

14. Piney Woods Wine Trail Festival 2026

Plan for the next Spring Piney Woods Wine Trail Festival in April 2026.

Here are fourteen reasons to spend a weekend in Lindale, TX! I’m sure there are more, but these are the top activities and attractions to see and visit. For more information about this small town, be sure to check out Visit Lindale for all the updated news.
