The Amazing San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter Review

You will want to book the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter for its food and location!

When they say location is everything, the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter means it. This luxury hotel is located on the River Walk in the heart of downtown San Antonio. It’s also steps away from restaurants and the Rivercenter Mall. It could be the perfect hotel for a San Antonio road trip getaway. My San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter review includes our favorite things and what we love the most.

Disclosure: San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter hosted us for two nights and treated us to fantastic amenities. All opinions are my own.

Marriott Rivercenter offers a wide array of newly renovated and well-appointed guest rooms and suites, each thoughtfully designed to provide the utmost comfort and relaxation. Featuring modern furnishings, plush bedding, and contemporary amenities, these accommodations serve as a tranquil haven for weary travelers seeking respite after a day of sightseeing or business meetings.

The rooms also offer stunning views of the city skyline or the tranquil river, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the beauty of San Antonio.

Our suite was so spacious and beautiful, with a great downtown skyline view. The split living and sleeping areas are great for a girlfriend’s getaway or a family vacation. The spacious bathroom has a separate toilet area with a large walk-in shower, which we greatly admired.

Room service is available throughout the day and is perfect when you want to lounge around in your luxurious room.

We love the easy access to the River Walk and were able to hop on the Go Rio River cruise after our fantastic dinner. We love that we could walk out to the Riverwalk from the hotel doors. Book it for its location!

Onsite Restaurants At San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter

  1. Tributary – seasonal American food using the freshest ingredients from local farmers. Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch & dinner.
  2. Café Boccadillo – an all-day coffee house serving lite meals, great coffee, and a market for those things you may have forgotten.
  3. Restaurants nearby – Boudros, Yard House, Bohanan’s, Rosario’s – all three are within walking distance of the hotel.

The Onsite Restaurant Is Worth The Visit

We had dinner at Tributary, and it was a fantastic tasting of their seasonal menu. Our dinner started with a shrimp cocktail, queso & chips, and a Bavarian pretzel, all of which were wonderful. The cocktails we ordered were refreshing and fruity. I liked mine so much I ordered a second one.

Our main dishes were fantastic. I had the pork tenderloin schnitzel with mashed potatoes and a salad. My friend had pork belly mac & cheese. I may have grabbed a bit —it was so good.

For dessert, we shared the Hill Country peach dessert. It was a plate of heaven of rich peach ice cream over a cinnamon almond cake topped with bourbon caramel and pecan crumbles.

Facts About The San Antonio River Walk

  • Drinking is allowed on the River Walk but not on the streets above.
  • Swimming is not allowed on the River Walk.
  • The River Walk is 2 to 24 feet deep.
  • Though I’ve never seen it, fishing is allowed along the River Walk. Largemouth bass have been caught there.
  • The river is a functioning waterway that funnels water through central San Antonio and the southern parts of the City and South Texas, so yes, it’s a real river.
