The Christmas Capital of Texas is a charming town in North Texas located on the shores of Lake Grapevine near Dallas/Fort Worth. Grapevine, TX, is known for its vibrant hospitality. It is home to world-class hotels and luxe resorts, including the Gaylord Texan Resort, the boutique Hotel Vin, and the family-friendly Great Wolf Lodge. There are plenty of events and attractions in Grapevine, TX, to keep visitors returning year-round.

Grapevine is home to the Urban Wine Trail, Historic Main Street, Historic Nash Farm, and Grapevine Vintage Railroad. It hosts many annual festivals and events, including GrapeFest – A Texas Wine Experience; Main Street Fest – a family Texas Tradition; and the Christmas Capital of Texas, featuring over 1,400 Christmas events over 40 days.

The Grapevine Vintage Railroad officially kicks off its 2025 season with excursions every weekend.

Spring

Grapevine Vintage Railroad

Saturday, February 15

The Grapevine Vintage Railroad offers weekend excursions and special events all year. On the Cotton Belt Route, you’ll also experience the Historic Stockyards for a few hours before returning to Historic Grapevine.

Fridays, March 28, April 4 & 11

Jazz Wine Trains – Enjoy adults-only excursions on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad while tasting Texas wines and listening to the soulful sounds of live jazz.

Saturday, April 12

33rd Annual New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail – Sip new-release wines along Grapevine’s Urban Wine Trail while checking out the fantastic art galleries on Historic Main Street. Don’t miss the Blessing of the Vines, a centuries-old European tradition, and the kickoff to New Vintage.

Nash Farm

Saturday, April 26

Join the Farmhands at Historic Nash Farm and learn how Grapevine’s earliest settlers celebrated Spring in the late 1800s on the Grape Vine Prairie.

Summer

Grapevine Main LIVE!

On Fridays in May and June, except during the Main Street Fest, Grapevine Main LIVE! brings live music to Peace Plaza during an eight-week complimentary live music series. Enjoy the open air, splash pad, and sense of community, along with bites and drinks from Harvest Hall.

Main Street Fest

Friday – Sunday, May 16, 17 and 18

The 41st Annual Main Street Fest – See Grapevine’s Historic Main Street transform into one of the most exciting festivals in the U.S. the third weekend of May. The Texas-sized festival lasts three days and features vendors, artisans, fair food, a carnival, a kid zone, and live entertainment all weekend long.

Texas Women’s Open

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, May 28, 29 and 30

Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open – See top amateurs, professionals, and legendary LPGA players at the Grapevine Golf Course, one of the best public courses in Texas.

June, July, August – All Tracks Lead to Grapevine – Grapevine’s Summer includes dinosaur-themed activities! Main Street merchants join in on the fun, and the Grapevine Tower Gallery will have experiences the whole family will enjoy.  

Annual July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza

Friday, July 4

Enjoy a fireworks spectacle as Grapevine celebrates America’s freedom above Lake Grapevine at the 43rd Annual July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza.

Saturday, July 12 – 1920’s Ice Cream Social at Historic Nash Farm – Enjoy ice cream, the old-fashioned way, with the Farmhands, who will be dressed in their period-appropriate attire.

Friday, July 25

Enjoy the nightlife onboard Grapevine Vintage Railroad’s 3rd Annual Disco Wine Train! This disco-inspired excursion is for adults 21+.

Fall

Grapevine Main LIVE!

Fridays in September and October, except during GrapeFest, enjoy live music from tribute artists on Peace Plaza during this eight-week complimentary live music series. Enjoy a lovely evening and visit Harvest Hall for some bites and drinks to complete the night.

Annual ItalianCarFest

Saturday, September 6

21st Annual ItalianCarFest – Kick off GrapeFest week with millions of dollars worth of Maserati’s, Ferraris, and Vespas set against the backdrop of Historic Nash Farm.

Grapevine GrapeFest

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday – September 11, 12, 13, 14

39th Annual GrapeFest – A Texas Wine Experience – The Grape Gatsby. Celebrate the Roaring ‘20s at GrapeFest – the Largest Wine Festival in the Southwest U.S. It offers four days of family-friendly festival fun with live music and entertainment on four stages, a carnival midway, shopper’s paradise at local Main Street boutiques, galleries, select vendors, the largest consumer-judged wine competition in the Southwest – the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic, International Wine Experience, Rosé Rendezvous at the Gazebo, the Champagne Terrace and much more.

Historic Nash Farms

Friday, October 10 – Historic Nash Farm Barn Dance Grab your dance partner for this 1950s-called dance and fried chicken box supper, complete with a pie auction.

Saturday, October 11 – Nash Farm’s Fall Roundup Visit the Farm to get hands-on experience with the Farmhands and learn how families experienced Fall in the late 1800s.

Winter

The Christmas Capital of Texas

Mid-November – early January – The Christmas Capital of Texas Experience what Newsweek Readers voted the Best Christmas Town in the U.S. for 2024. From November to January each year, Grapevine transforms into a Christmas lover’s paradise! Enjoy more than 1,400 events over 40 days. Take in millions of lights, Merry and Bright Drone Shows and the Peace Plaza Ice Rink. Taste festive cocktails at Christmas pop-up bars—Ride Santa’s North Pole Express or Christmas Wine Trains on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. Take family photos at dozens of photo opportunities. Share Classic Christmas Movies with the family and sing along to Broadway-style tribute shows at the Historic Palace Theatre. The Carol of Lights festival is the official kickoff to the season on Monday, November 25.
