Start planning your 2025 travels to the most photographed places in Texas!

I have to boast that the state of Texas is pretty cool. Not only is it a vast state, but some places also receive a lot of attention from residents and tourists visiting for a vacation. Today, Texas Travel Talk is sharing the top Instagrammable spots in Texas, along with the hashtags to follow. From large city zoos to sports arenas to the Alamo and beyond, a favorite will surely be spotted. I’m passing this information on as it’s worth knowing to help you plan your next trip to the Lone Star State.

The list below reveals the most photographed spots in Texas by a reputable company using TripAdvisor and Instagram as sources. From historical sites to peaceful, relaxing landscapes and fun places to spend some time, it shows the most loved spots to visit all over the state, with the San Antonio River Walk capturing users’ attention the most.

The 10 Top Instagrammable Spots in Texas

According to data on TripAdvisor and Instagram hashtags, Texas Real Estate Source recently (summer 2024) shared the most Instagram-worthy spots in Texas. So, if you’re planning a few road trips in Texas, this list should be a great start for planning. This company did a great deal of research for their findings, so I wanted to give them all the credit.

They started with TripAdvisor by searching for attractions with at least 1,000 reviews. Then, they took their findings to Instagram and searched for hashtags related to each attraction. Using hashtags, they chose the most popular posts and ranked the attractions from highest to lowest.

The original list named the top 40; here are the top 10.

10. Minute Maid Park

#minutemaidpark

I know for a fact Houstonians love their Astros, and it shows. Minute Maid Park made the list, and I’m betting it’s all because of that baseball team. It’s raining—no problem; the games will never end with its retractable roof. And no doubt you’ll have somewhere to eat on the Michelin Guide List for Texas because several restaurants in Houston made the list!

9. Dallas Zoo

#dallaszoo

The Dallas Zoo is the largest and oldest zoo in Texas, located just south of downtown. It spans over 105 acres and houses many of the animals we all like to see when we visit zoos. It’s noted that there are 2,000 animals in the zoo, and welcoming new animals each year. The latest is an okapi calf.

I’m torn between the Fort Worth Zoo and this one. They are great attractions for the whole family and can be spent the entire day.

8. Padre Island National Seashore

#padreisland

No doubt this area of Texas is on this list. There is so much to do in SPI. If you can’t make it in the summertime, visit South Padre in the off-season for fewer crowds and less expensive hotel rates. It’s still warm there – the kids can still play in the water because it’s warm enough (well maybe).

7. Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens

#dallasarboretum

The Dallas Arboretum features 66 acres of gardens and two historical mansions with art and furniture. The best times to visit are spring, fall, and during the holidays, when the gardens are decorated for the seasons.

6. Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District

#fortworthstockyards

When tourists come to town, they head to the Fort Worth Stockyards first. Once there, you may never want to leave to visit other parts of the city—it’s that fun out there. It’s my favorite place to go in Fort Worth, and I don’t live far from there. Plus, there are plenty of excellent restaurants in the area.

The Drover Hotel is on Mule Alley Rd, and I’ve heard it’s a very nice, upscale hotel. The stockyards have changed from years ago. I could count how many stores and eateries there were, but now there’s no way to keep up—there are boutiques, bars, restaurants, and hotels on every corner and side street. It’s amazing!

5. Lady Bird Lake Hike-and-Bike Trail

#ladybirdlake

Lady Bird Lake Hike-and-Bike Trail had 139,154 Instagram posts. This scenic trail in Austin, with lush green parks and peaceful lakes, is a great place to bike, hike, and run. The city of Austin is getting so much buzz, from the Capitol to the restaurants, surrounding lakes, and all the weird stuff happening in the city.

Just yesterday (Dec. 2024), Austin was named #12 best place to travel globally and the overall best place in the continental US by Travel Lemming, an online travel source with over 10 million followers. Check it out and make plans to visit Austin in 2025.

4. The Alamo

#thealamo

The Alamo is best known as the site of the 1836 Battle of the Alamo. It has over 300 years of history since its establishment in 1718 as Mission San Antonio de Valero. I can’t remember when I was there, but it deserves another visit. There is so much history in that building. Put this Texas attraction on your travel list if you haven’t been.

3. AT&T Stadium

#attstadium

The AT&T Stadium in Arlington weighed 149,700 posts. Home to the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League, it has an 80,000-seat capacity, making it the 19th largest stadium in the country out of 151 currently active ones.

2. Houston Zoo

#houstonzoo

Seems like Houston residents love their zoo! Houston Zoo appeared in 162,203 Instagram posts. The zoo is in a 55-acre lush tropical landscape only five miles from downtown Houston and hosts over 1.84 million guests annually. 1. San Antonio River Walk

#sanantonioriverwalk

According to Texas Real Estate Source, the San Antonio Riverwalk is the most photographed spot in Texas!

With 168,901 posts and the hashtag, this 15-mile-long river walk is a must-do in San Antonio. You can take a self-guided walking or bike tour on the riverside path or a hop-on, hop-off cruise. The scenery is surreal, and the river is lined with beautiful cypress trees, shops, museums, hotels, and Tex-Mex restaurants.
