Romance is in the air – can you feel it? Why not go for that extra dose of romance this year for Valentine’s Day. I’m sure most of us could use it. I have listed a few. And, if it’s not V-day, go anyway!

1. Granbury (near Fort Worth)

Enjoy the nightlife and its historic town square that’s full of restaurants with outside seating, breweries, and boutiques. Granbury Lake is within walking distance from the square if it’s not too chilly for a walk. Several places are offering extra goodies for Valentine’s Day. A Granbury romantic getaway might be what you need to rekindle your relationship.

2. Brenham (East Texas)

In my opinion, Brenham is one of the most charming towns in East Texas. It boasts beautiful historic buildings, and its downtown is full of shopping and dining, and you might even catch a live event while you’re there. And, if you’re there during the week, be sure to hop on over to the Blue Bell Creamery for a scoop of ice cream for $1. Other charming small towns are close by and are swarming with cuteness. I’m sure there are plenty of BnBs in the area. Get to know Brenham a little better in this article – 11 Best Things To Do In Charming Brehanm, TX.

3. Gruene (New Braunfels)

A small town with a lot of charm is what you’ll find in Gruene. I can’t think of a better small town to visit with my spouse. With the Guadalupe River running through it and pleasant weather in that part of Texas, I can see walking along the banks, dipping my toes in the water – freezing or not, and having a picnic with my favorite bottle of wine. For an evening out and maybe some dancing, make plans to at Gruene Hall – the oldest dance hall in Texas. This could be one of the best romantic getaways in Texas you’ll ever experience.

4. Kemah (Houston Area)

Nightlife on the Kemah Boardwalk would make an excellent getaway for couples. It’s dark, and the lights shining off the water give just enough light to grab a kiss when she least expects it. It’s just so romantic out there. Perhaps rent a houseboat for the night and have a romantic dinner on the bow. If that’s not available, Kemah Boardwalk offers fantastic waterfront dining.

5. Glen Rose (near Fort Worth)

Who said outdoor activities aren’t romantic? It’s who you’re with that matters. If both of you are outdoorsy people, then a road trip to the Dinosaur Valley State Park would make a perfect getaway. Lots of hiking and looking for dinosaur bones would be fun. Glen Rose’s historic downtown square has excellent restaurants and shops.

6. Fredericksburg (THC)

You know I have to mention Fredericksburg. You know it is an excellent place to visit if it’s on every list. Valentine’s Day in Fredericksburg has prepared something special. Go check it out.

7. Wimberley (THC)

For a nice romantic cabin in the woods, choose the quaint town Wimberley – a hill country hidden gem. For a better night of it, choose one with a hot tub in the backyard. Looking at Airbnb or Vrbo will be your best bet here.

8. Grapevine (North Texas)

This town never stops amazing its visitors. With all the action on Main Street and the Gaylord Hotel, this town is booming. Grapevine is always a place to go for all occasions. And, if you’re a wine connoisseur who loves wine tastings, you’re in luck because there are about 11 wineries just on Main Street – no need to get in the car to drive to each, except if going to the one further north – called Cross Timbers Winery. It’s the first one of its kind to open in Grapevine and still going strong. They offer outdoor weddings too.

9. Horseshoe Bay (THC – Marble Falls)

Horseshoe Bay is a prime small town for romance, especially if you stay at Horseshoe Bay Resort – a golf and spa resort known to have excellent Valentine’s Day packages. Plus, the hill country scenic views are something to behold

10. Cat Springs (Houston)

Blisswood Bed & Breakfast Ranch offers packages to couples hoping to have a romantic Valentine’s. Packages can include fresh flowers in your room, along with chocolate-dipped strawberries, a bottle of champagne, and more. Y0u can be as relaxed as you want or active as you want as this is a working ranch with plenty of outdoor activities to do for guests. Here’s an article I wrote on Family Fall at Blisswood B&B Ranch that may be of interest to you.

Oh, which one of these small-town TX for couples is your favorite? Do tell.
