Mother-Daughter Trip To Pearland, TX

A complete itinerary for A Mother-Daughter trip to Pearland, TX.

South of Houston on Highway 288, Pearland, Texas, the largest city in Brazoria County, is home to various shopping opportunities, dining options, and hand-painted pear sculptures all over town. Our mother-daughter trip to Pearland, TX, was fun and action-packed, but most of all – memorable. The ages of your duo don’t matter. Any mom and daughter would love all these things we did in Pearland, too – even young girls. I bet you’ll agree.

Pearland (pronounced pear-land) boasts major department stores, brand names, and the cutest locally-owned boutiques. This town is where you want to be for all your shopping desires. The same goes for all the restaurants in town. There’s plenty for everyone’s tastes.

This article is written as an itinerary to help you plan your visit. You can follow it exactly how we did or pick a few things and go with it.

I partnered with Pearland, TX, on a destination visit that included accommodations, meals, attractions, and compensation. All opinions here are mine, and my mom’s alone!

Our Mother-Daughter Trip To Pearland, TX

This was our second mother-daughter trip in three months. We’re always on a mission to spend valuable time together doing fun things and learning more about the towns we visit. Our most admired mission was searching for as many pear sculptures as possible. What town do you know with over twenty 4-ft pears painted by locals and dedicated to a person or a place scattered all over town?

Things to Do in Pearland, TX – A 3-Day Itinerary

Pearland, TX, is home to locally-owned restaurants, rich culture, and the art scene. I’ve said it above, and I’ll repeat it: Pearland Town Center is shopping heaven. I’m a little jealous because we have to travel nearly 30 minutes to Target, where I live.

With its big-city amenities, outdoor nature, and live music at several weekend venues, Pearland makes a perfect Texas road trip for a mother-daughter duo. No matter when you go, the below itinerary will fit your stay. We visited Weds-Friday.

Wednesday:

  • Lunch at Killen’s Burgers
  • Pear-Scape Trail
  • We checked into the Courtyard Marriott Pearland Town Center
  • Boutique shopping
  • One Board Chick (dinner to take to our crafting class)
  • The Rustic Brush

Lunch at Killen’s Burgers

When we arrived in town, we had lunch at a Pearland staple – Killen’s Burgers and I can see why. The decor is from the 50s, and we felt we were in the TV show – Happy Days. Then we ordered a hamburger, a side of sharable onion rings, and a chocolate shake. Whenever you visit a 50s restaurant, a good shake is in order. It was all good, and my mom slurped up the last bit of that chocolate shake. We were ready for more adventure with a full tummy.

Pear-Scape Trail Adventure

Be sure to stop by the visitor’s center to pick up a brochure of all the locations of the pears. We could not have done it without that brochure. We saw some very colorful ones, and the locations were impressive, too. You can finish the tour the next day if you want.

And A Little Hope Boutique

After pear hunting, we headed to the boutiques on Broadway. We ended up at a fancy one called “And A Little Hope Boutique,” an adorable shop featuring cute and colorful clothing for all ages – but primarily for young ladies. I bought my mom the cutest daisy earrings and our cousin a cute bag with pearl initials that she can put on her bag or anywhere she chooses.

We ended our shopping spree next door to the boutique at One Board Chick, where we picked up a to-go charcuterie board for dinner to take to our craft night. I added those chocolate pecans because – well, it’s chocolate!

Get Your Craft On At The Rustic Brush

The Rustic Brush in Pearland is a BYOB home decor workshop where you can make any craft. They have all kinds of samples on their website and in the store. At least we did. You will start your craft from scratch and finish. The workshop lasted 3 hours, and we were full hands-on the entire time – with some help from Tammy, the owner.

My mom made a blanket ladder, and I made a Texas directional sign while we ate our charcuterie board and drank a glass of wine (it was Wine Wednesday). There was another mother-daughter duo, and I shared my pecans with them! We had a great time.

Outdoors In Pearland, TX

The next day, our Mother-Daughter trip started outdoors and ended at a beautiful restaurant for dinner, where we met up with my uncle and his fiance.

Thursday:

  • Breakfast at the hotel or anywhere of your choosing. There are a few donut shops in the Town Center.
  • Delores Fenwick Nature Center
  • Lunch at Four Friends Tea Room
  • Brows’ Aroun’ Antiques Shop
  • Dinner at Santa Barbara Italian Cafe

Delores Fenwick Nature Center

After breakfast, we headed to the Delores Fenwick Nature Center, where my mom was introduced to geocaching. It’s fun searching for things in nature and documenting your finds. My grandson and I love geocaching. Be sure to look up the term “geocaching” if you don’t know what it means. There are four geocaches at the nature center – inside and outside. But the best part was seeing the cute alligators and that snake – eek!

Free Admission.

Tea Room Sampler

Lunch at Four Friend Tea Room

Words can’t describe the Tea Room Sampler we ordered. It is the best tea room food we have ever had …and so much of it – and at a great price. The Tea Room Sampler came with three finger sandwiches and your choice of 2 sides. The mother-daughter duo we met at craft night told us what to order. They frequent the place so much that they know the owner and her family.

Must-Try: Pumpkin Bread and Raspberry Peach Tea.

After lunch, we checked out BrowsAroun’ Antiques at 4808 Broadway St. I found a lovely antique lantern to hang from the ceiling in my bedroom, and my mom found a couple of collectible plates in a dollar basket. The place is enormous; you could spend all day there if you love antiques as much as we do.

Manicotti Sundried Tomatoes with Grilled Chicken

Santa Barbara Italian Cafe

We invited my uncle and his fiance to dine with us. They live about 30 minutes south of Pearland, and I always try to visit them when in the area. My mom and I split the Manicotti Sundried Tomatoes with Grilled Chicken, which went very well with a glass of Chianti red wine (central Tuscany). We even had leftovers.

Santa Barbara Italian Cafe is part of the Pearland International Cuisine Trail (see below).

Must-See Art In Pearland, TX

Our last day in Pearland consists of viewing more art in the city and having an incredible lunch.

Friday:

  • Coffee & breakfast at Pearland Coffee Roasters
  • Pearland Mural
  • Independence Park (a must-see tunnel mural)
  • Lunch at Eight Turn Crepe
  • Pearland Town Center for shopping

Pearland Coffee Roasters

Grab a coffee and choose between sweet or savory food items, or do as we did – we decided on both. Pearland Coffee Roasters is located at 4106 Broadway St.

The entrance to the tunnel mural.

Pearland Mural

After breakfast, we headed out to find the giant Pearland mural (called The Old Townside Mural) at 3530 E Broadway St. Then to Independence Park at 3449 Pearland Parkway to check out the tunnel mural. The gate was locked, but I got a few lovely photos of the mural outside. This mural is incredible and a must-see.

Eight Turn Crepe

The name alone is very intriguing. So, we had freshly made Japanese-style crepes at Eight Turn Crepe for lunch. Oh my goodness, this was a first for us. I ordered the fruit crepe, and my mom had one of the breakfast crepes.

If nothing else, have a meal here. It’s hard to explain how this mouthwatering crepe satisfied our whole trip. The restaurant is also on the Pearland International Cuisine Trail.

So, that’s our mother-daughter trip to Pearland, TX. What do you think?

International Cuisine Trail

Follow the Pearland International Cuisine Trail to experience locally-owned restaurants in town to experience the taste of the distinct cultures that make Pearland one of the most diverse cities in Texas. Mobile friendly.
