Find your perfect getaway with your favorite person.

According to a recent study, Texas ranks 9th among the most popular honeymoon destinations in the US. No doubt, Hawaii took the #1 spot with its luxury resorts and pristine beaches. But, suppose you’re looking for a less expensive honeymoon. In that case, Texas offers couples a diverse range of experiences, from wine-country getaways to urban adventures and rugged natural landscapes. Peruse this list of honeymoon destinations in Texas, and set sail for your memorable honeymoon with your love.

Takeaways:

  • Couples honeymooning in Texas often gravitate toward the Hill Country, drawn by its rolling vineyards and idyllic landscapes.
  • Many resorts cater to honeymoons, including the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa and Horseshoe Bay Resort & Spa.
  • For those seeking solitude or adventure, tucked-away cabins provide a more intimate, off-the-grid retreat.

Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa

Bastrop, Texas

For newlyweds ready to exhale after the rush of wedding planning, Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa creates a peaceful, nature‑centered honeymoon that doesn’t require traveling far. Spread across 405 acres along the Colorado River and only half an hour from Austin, the resort feels worlds away, with quiet riverfront paths, wide‑open green spaces, and a slower rhythm that encourages couples to unwind.

Spend unhurried days exploring the grounds, breathing in the fresh Hill Country air, or slipping into the serenity of Lost Pines Spa. Treatments rooted in natural elements—soothing relaxation massages, seasonal aromatherapy featuring Texas botanicals, and immersive full‑body rituals—help set the mood for rest, reconnection, and a gentle, rejuvenating beginning to married life.

Luxury Glamping Tent: Photo from Star-Studded Nights

Star-Studded Nights

On the Bosque River just outside of Waco

Star-Studded Nights glamping ground is a secluded riverside retreat in Central Texas, designed for couples seeking a romantic, off-the-grid honeymoon without sacrificing luxury. Nestled along the Bosque River near Waco, the property features five private safari-style canvas tents, each thoughtfully spaced for privacy and immersed in nature.

Every tent has a king-size bed with luxury linens, climate control (A/C & heat), private deck seating, and hotel-style amenities — all under expansive Texas skies filled with stars. Couples can kayak together on the river, relax in hammocks, gather around fire pits, or enjoy sunset cocktails at the pavilion. With no crowds, no traffic, and nothing but nature and starlight, Star-Studded Nights offers an intimate honeymoon experience focused on connection, tranquility, and unforgettable memories.

They are an adult-focused, low-density glamping property with only five tents total — so privacy and tranquility are core to the experience.

Wi-Fi: yes; TV: no; pet-friendly for a fee.

Nearby state parks:

  • Lake Whitney State Park is a 30-minute drive.
  • Mother Neff State Park is a 32-minute drive.
  • Meridian State Park is a 30-minute drive.

Grand Galvez Resort & Spa

Galveston Island

I hope you like the color pink. But it’s not pink inside … but it is gorgeous!

The Grand Galvez features historic architecture, beaches, and attractions such as Moody Gardens and Pleasure Pier.

Camp Lucy

Dripping Springs, Hill Country

Camp Lucy is a special romantic spot in the Texas Hill Country for all occasions, especially weddings, couples’ weekends, and, of course, honeymoons. The newest addition to Camp Lucy is its Folk Lore Spa. Last time I was there, it wasn’t open yet. But it’s been open since Dec. 2025.

With Dripping Springs being the “Wedding Capital of Texas,” with over 30 wedding venues, you’ll find a special place here to spend your honeymoon, if not at Camp Lucy.

Hotel Contessa

San Antonio River Walk

Hotel Contessa is the only AAA Four-Diamond, all-suite hotel on San Antonio’s River Walk. There is also the hotel’s gorgeous on-property restaurant, Ambler Texas Kitchen + Cocktails, along with The Spa, making it a fabulous honeymoon destination!

San Antonio itself is a happening place. Travel + Leisure named San Antonio one of 15 places its readers can’t get enough of in 2025.

Hotel Contessa offers the Love on the Riverwalk Package for couples in love and the spa for a couple’s massage! Additionally, the Contessa Suite is ideal for special occasions and perfect for honeymooners. It is their one and only “presidential” suite.

Horseshoe Bay Resort & Spa

Horseshoe Bay offers romantic amenity-filled options suitable for newlyweds. Couples can customize hotel packages that include accommodation, $50 daily resort credit, and breakfast, along with amenities such as adults-only pools and spa options.

Hill Country Casitas

Dripping Springs, Texas Hill Country

If you’re looking for solitude, nature, and amenities like a pool, hot tub, and hiking trails in the backwoods, Hill Country Casitas is a great option.

Nearby is Hawk’s Shadow Winery & Vineyard (down the street), a wonderful venue for wine tastings and your favorite glass of vino. And of course, there is the quaint town of Dripping Springs, which showcases its history and all its adorable shops and restaurants on Mercer Street.

We searched high and low for these Texas honeymoon destinations, and we hope you find the one that’s especially for you and yours.
