A Perfect Getaway in Central Texas: The Ruby Hotel & Bar

Make it last, make it memorable—stay at The Ruby Hotel in Round Rock.

North Texas, South Texas, East Texas, and West Texas—but what about all those towns that don’t fit into any of those areas? Well, they’re in Central Texas! No matter who you are traveling with, the Ruby Hotel & Bar is the perfect getaway in Central Texas. Even the locals think so!

The Ruby Hotel & Bar is a boutique hideaway where modern style blends sweetly with timeless charm. Set along the scenic banks of Brushy Creek in Round Rock, Texas, this intimate retreat is celebrated for its warm hospitality, thoughtful design, and tranquil atmosphere—just minutes from downtown Round Rock and roughly 20 minutes from Austin, just off I-35.

Disclosure: The Ruby Hotel & Bar hosted me for one night and treated me to dinner and breakfast. All opinions are my own.

The Ruby Hotel & Bar

Opened in 2019, The Ruby Hotel & Bar is built around a historic home and sits on the creek, making it one of Central Texas’s finest boutique hotels.

Brie, fig, & prosciutto flatbread

The Ruby Bar

The Ruby Bar is just a step from all rooms. Guests can unwind in the on-site cocktail lounge, where a charming 1960s-era home sets the scene for craft cocktails, shareable dishes, live music, and evenings by the fireplace.

The Ruby Bar pours craft cocktails, curated wines, and shareable bites in a warm, welcoming setting—an ideal spot for locals and travelers alike to socialize, relax, and unwind. When I arrived around 7 pm, locals were at the bar, hanging out and chatting. A local started up a conversation with me and asked what brought me there. We talked about the location and how Round Rock is booming with new businesses. He had great things to say about the Ruby, telling me he goes often because the food and vibes are great.

I asked both bartenders what to order; one recommended a few dishes, including the Brie, Fig & Prosciutto Flatbread, and the other said he loved all the salads. I took their advice, ordered the flatbread and a Cobb salad, and ate every bite.

What I Am Loving

I really like how quaint the bar is. It’s not too big, but it’s big enough for a small party or a solo visit. Very cozy. I also loved that everyone I interacted with was super nice and helpful. I was running late, and the girl behind the counter put together some breakfast items for me to take on the road.

What is Near the Ruby Hotel?

Lots of shopping, a tea lounge, a coffee bar, and other restaurants.

Anything Else Worth Mentioning?

A new events venue will break ground in Fall 2026, be completed in Fall 2027, and accommodate weddings, corporate gatherings, conferences, and special events.
