When you thought small-town Justin didn’t have much to offer, think again.
That’s what I thought when I moved here in 2001 from the HEB area, aka Hurst, Euless, Bedford, and that’s what I kept thinking for over twenty years. However, Justin has become a destination for visitors, and locals have places to gather. Now I’m proud to say I live here. This small town, home of Justin Discount Boots and in proximity to the Texas Motor Speedway, is no longer a boring town to visit or live in. So, if you’re planning a trip, check out the best things to do in Justin, TX—and see why this little town is making a big impression.
Things To Do In Justin, TX
Justin, TX (Denton County), is located in North Texas, between Denton and Fort Worth, with easy access via I-35. It has a population of roughly 6,200 and is growing so rapidly that families are moving here from out of state and from other cities in Texas. That said, some residents feel the need to move farther out to be in the country (as Justin did back in the day). But some of us welcome the growth.

Top Things To Do In Justin, TX
From the old murals depicting Justin’s history to the new colorful murals in town that reflect growth, we welcome it all. Have you seen the new colorful murals in town? I love them all!

Coffee Shops
Justin Coffee Shop on Hwy 407 offers food, an outdoor patio, an outdoor space for kids to roam, plenty of indoor seating, wifi, and a gift shop. It’s a wonderful place to go while getting your car looked at next door or to walk to from Old Town on a beautiful day. Kahwa is also a place to sit and chat with wifi, a drive-thru, and points for every purchase. My favorite coffee to order is their Café Latte. They are located on Hwy 156. Higher Grounds is also located on Hwy 156, closer to downtown and the boot stores. They specialize in espresso drinks, tea, and desserts in a casual gathering space. There is one other that operates their coffee shop out of a cool trailer. Look for them on Hwy 156. It’s a perfect spot to grab a cup on your way out of town or to work. You may even find a food truck serving hamburgers there, too.

Justin Discount Boots & Cowboy Outfitters
Justin Discount Boots Warehouse is three stores full of boots, western wear, accessories, and Texas history. You can’t miss it on Hwy 156. Monday-Saturday, from 9 am to 6 pm. Closed on Sundays. I believe this is the place that visitors and tourists travel further for – this and the speedway.
Antique Mall
The Classy Cactus Antique Mall is my mom’s and mine favorite place to shop. We are there at least three times a month. They offer a wide range of vintage items, including jewelry, dishes, and furniture. You’ll also find new merchandise, secondhand women’s clothing, toys, and more. It’s a well-sized store, every inch filled with vendors’ items.

Wine & Bourbon Lounge
The newest addition to downtown Justin is Grapes to Wine+. It’s a nice place to sit, chat, and try a new wine or bourbon. I can see this place becoming a local favorite.

Boutiques
Right now, there are two boutiques on 4th Street – JJ’s Designs & Boutique and Texas Patina, but I do see the future of more. Also, the antique store (Classy Cactus) sells secondhand women’s clothing. Thrifted It Resale and Donation Center was rated the number one thrift store in Denton County on Google.

Justin Farmer’s Market by 1911 Beef
The Farmer’s Market in Old Town will resume in April 2026. They had a fresh opening towards the end of this year, and it seems to have gone mighty well. It grew each month. I love that I can walk to it!
Parks & Playgrounds
Justin has several parks all around town, including Bishop Park on Hwy 156 and a small playground next to the police station in downtown.

Attractions Around Justin, TX
Texas Motor Speedway – Then there’s the speedway. Though it’s technically in Fort Worth, we like to claim it. There are more places to eat near the speedway for those looking for chain restaurants.
I’m wondering how many locals actually attend events at Texas Motor Speedway. I can count two that I’ve been to in twenty+ years, and one was for work. Oh, but I’ve been to the first 10 or so Christmas Lights Drive-Thru.
Tanger Outlet Mall is across from the Speedway and offers brand-name stores, boutiques, and more. Then there is Buc-ee’s, also across the street from the Speedway.
There you have it, the top things to do in Justin, Texas. FYI – the town gets pretty quiet at night and on Sundays …as of right now!

It’s Hwy 156 in Justin, not 157.
AH, thanks. Being from the HEB area, I do get those highways mixed up. Thanks for pointing that out.
